Description
This exquisitely designed cottage is a wonderful escape from the everyday, you are going to create some brilliant memories here. Originally two farmer’s cottages built in the 1800’s this fluid and characterful home is now a haven of luxury for up to eight guests. Beams abound in this lovely setting and the cottage easily envelops you in a sense of calm relaxation. The warm and cosy kitchen has the benefit of an AGA and a range cooker and there is a small snug area at the end of the room, perfect for chatting to the cook or enjoying a quiet morning cuppa. The convivial dining room has French doors leading out to the sunny terrace and the living room has an impressive, beamed fireplace with a wood burner and is a gorgeous room to hunker down in with a good film or a good book and a glass of your favourite tipple. Unusually there are two staircases at either end of the house, leading you up to the lavish bedrooms, which are set over two floors. Feather & Black beds, gorgeous fabrics and every small detail thought about for your comfort, ensures a dreamy nights’ sleep. The pretty terraced garden, with planted raised beds is a sun trap and the perfect place to check out the stars when dining al fresco on warm summer nights. The village pub is just down the road and the glorious north Norfolk coast, much of which is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is less than a 10-minute drive away. Wighton is an ancient Norfolk village that has a listing in the Domesday book and is now a quiet and tranquil spot inland from the hubbub on the coast. It has a good village pub and is on the fringes of the Norfolk coasts’ Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beaches at Wells-next-the-Sea (3 miles) and Holkham (5 miles) are backed by pine woods and trails and when the tide is out, they are wide, sandy spaces that create the perfect playground for young and old alike. There is so much to do in the area; take a trip to the lovely Georgian town of Burnham Market with its independent shopping and great restaurants, all collected around the village green. Book a trip to see the seals off Blakeney Point. Visit the artisan coastal village of Cley-net-the-Sea with its iconic windmill. Just along the coast, is Norfolk Wildlife Trusts’ Cley Marshes Visitors Centre – sit in the café, pick up a pair of binoculars and watch the birdlife fly by. Farm shops, delicatessens and artisan bakeries showcase the best
of the county produce and quiet walks and trails pepper the landscape. It is an area once discovered, not easily forgotten and one you will want to return to time and time again.
