Description

This charming Georgian property is in the peaceful village of Methwold in the Norfolk countryside. A fantastic base for families and friends to come together to celebrate any occasion. Surrounded by plenty of scenic footpaths and cycle routes to enjoy. Head south to Thetford Forest for a range of activities from canopy-top obstacle courses to leisurely picnics and walks. If it’s a bit of culture and history you’re after, there are a variety of National Trust places nearby including Oxburgh Hall (7 miles) featuring a medieval manor house and Victorian garden, or the much-loved country retreat of the royal family, Sandringham (24 miles). Don’t miss out on a day trip to visit the beautiful Norfolk coastline, Hunstanton beach is accessible to if you like driving. The market town of Bury St Edmunds (22 miles) is also worth a visit, with shops, a theatre, a cathedral, and the ruins of the Abbey of St Edmund in the stunning Abbey Gardens.

A luxurious and spacious detached house, tastefully furnished and filled with natural light. With high ceilings, expansive windows and a seamless blend of modern elegance and period features. Behind the impressive front door, you are welcomed into a gorgeous entrance hall with winding staircase. Either side are two reception rooms where you can retire for a movie night around the Smart TV or retreat with your favourite book. The kitchen is fully equipped, catering to culinary enthusiasts, and boasts a breakfast bar with four bar stools, and an Aga which is available to use on request, if it is preferred to use rather than the traditional oven. The dining area has a large table which can seat 12 guests and is the perfect place for socialising and entertaining in style. Also on the ground floor, you’ll find a utility room and cloakroom. Upstairs are five bedrooms which have been thoughtfully furnished and individually designed. Four generously sized king-size bedrooms and one bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. The two immaculate bathrooms complete this floor.

Outside, enjoy the fresh air in the secluded garden with a chilled glass of fizz or fire up the barbeque and feast in the sunshine. An enclosed oasis offering plenty of space for children and dogs to run about

Reviews

We loved our stay at Red House. It was perfect for 3 generations of our family to spend the week together. The beds were all very comfy and the bedrooms very spacious. The house itself was great with lots of space and fabulous hiding places for hide and seek. We would definitely return again. The area was great with lots to do too.

Mr G,

We really enjoyed our stay and would like to visit again . We enjoyed time in the garden ( good outdoor furniture) The children loved the play room , and 2 lounges helped the 8 adults relax . All in all a brilliant time . Thank you

Mrs J,

This property was a perfect place for our bank holiday weekend. It is spacious offering loads of rooms to be able to socialise in or have a moment alone. Parking was enough for 4 cars and easy to find with the instructions provided. Kitchen was kitted out with everything you could need and the beds were very comfortable. The house was very clean and we would definitely come back again.
