Private catering can be arranged, as can archery lessons and there is also a hard tennis court with racquets and balls supplied, a hot tub, somewhere to store bicycles with some to borrow, plus 33 acres of countryside to explore from the front door. There is a gorgeous Italianate-style patio garden for al fresco eating on warmer days, which has a pretty Garden Room and the barn overlooks a large pond, with decking that stretches over the pond edge - take a chair, relax and dream. Inside the barn is as impressive as its external surroundings in its architecture, eclectic décor and superb presentation. All the bedrooms, many of which are on the ground floor, have towelling robes and Smart TV’s. There are four en-suite bath/shower rooms, two family bath/shower rooms and one en-suite cloakroom. Aslacton is a small, south Norfolk, rural hamlet set in lush countryside and farmland. Peaceful and quiet and a world away from the everyday rush of life, it offers lovely walking and cycling country under the huge skies Norfolk is so famous for. The bustling market town of Diss is 20 minutes away and offers golf, fishing lakes and swimming. If some of your party are coming by train there is also a mainline station in the town. If you want to fly free as a bird take yourself off to Tibenham Gliding Club for a trial flight or lesson, only half a mile away but another world away in terms of an experience! The city of Norwich is a half hour drive for culture, cafes, fine dining and retail therapy – make a day of it and go to the cinema before coming home. or enjoy a day out or evening out on the dry ski slopes which is great for adults or children. Or perhaps if you enjoy spending your time out on the golf course, visit Dunston Hall for a 18 hole course, or Barnham Broom where they have 2, 18 hole courses to play. If you are on a family getaway why not take your kids to Banham Zoo where you can find animals from giraffes, tigers and penguins. The charming town of Bungay on the Norfolk/Suffolk borders is worth a visit with the Earsham Street end of the town showcasing good delicatessens, antique haunts and a great café with a pretty garden to eat out in when the weather allows. The Broads are less than 45 minutes away and make another lovely day out with over 125 miles of waterway networks to explore and if the coast beckons you can be there in an hour – the beaches on the east coast are sandy, spectacular and often underpopulated even in the summer.

Reviews

We were a group of 11 adults who go away together (sans children!) just to catch up and relax, and we have stayed in many lovely barn conversions, but this has been the best by far! Great amenities (kitchen was stocked with everything you could ever need!), the rooms were well decorated and interesting (most are just beige boxes), the location is just beautiful, and the owners were friendly and helpful (only contacted by text but very responsive). The hot tub was appreciated (even in the high winds!), as was the welcome 'basket' that was left for us. We will definitely be back and will look to book again in the Summer this time!

Ms S,

I can’t fault this place. So cosy with everything you need. Beds are so comfy.

Mrs S,

A striking and lovely place to stay, with a welcoming kitchen and a roomy sitting room alongside many other things. We enjoyed the tennis court, which is in good condition.

Mr J,

The cottage and grounds are both beautifully kept and comfortable. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Lots of attention to detail that made our stay great. Also fab to arrive to a homemade cake - delicious!

Mrs L,

We loved our stay at the Granary. We celebrated a 60th birthday with parents, children, and grandchildren. There was easily enough room to accommodate all of us with everyone having access to their own bathroom. The grounds are lovely to walk in and the hot tub was a real bonus. The Granary is spotless and incredibly well equipped. Highly recommended for both a short and long stay.

Ms M,

The property was absolutely perfect for our group of friends. The location was idyllic, and the property was beautiful. We had plans for the week so didn't take up any of the opportunities for archery, glider flights, etc, but they sounded fantastic. We did use the hot tub, which was lovely, and had a barbeque despite the cooler March weather! The bedrooms were all very comfortable and the living area was perfect for our group size of eight people. We really appreciated the cake, wine and coffee beans, which were all very thoughtful touches. Overall, I would recommend this property to anyone.

Ms W,

The Granary was the perfect for a multi generation celebration. Everybody from two to late 60s had an amazing time. It was spacious, luxuriously appointed, spotlessly clean with quirky features. It had everything we needed, only clothes and personal items need to be packed. The Internet connection was very good. There was a secure courtyard to contain the smaller children, and fields and a wood for the older children (and adults) to play hide and seek, cricket, badminton etc etc. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Cannot praise this property enough and would thoroughly recommend it and hope to stay there again.

Ms W,
