Description

A fabulous, spacious cottage located in the historic village of Castle Acre. The village offers a fish and chip shop, pub, convenience store, and café. It makes a perfect base for visiting the priory, which dates back to the 11th century and is one of the largest and best-preserved monastic sites in England, and the walled castle, built in the 12th century by the Normans. Locally there are some fantastic walks, excellent cycling routes and fishing at Great Massingham. Also visit the impressive 12th-century castle at Castle Rising, 14 miles away. Spend time at the Sandringham Estate, 14.5 miles away, where you can explore the 600-acre parkland grounds and follow trails. Plan a day trip to the North Norfolk coast with wide expanses of sandy beaches at Brancaster, 21 miles away, and the traditional seaside resort of Hunstanton, 23 miles away.

Step inside and you will immediately feel at home and start to unwind in this much-loved holiday home. Welcoming and relaxing, the emphasis is on comfort and quality both upstairs and down with contemporary styling throughout. The generous lounge features ample comfortable seating set around a wood burner adding warmth and ambience in the cooler months. Through an arch and down a couple of steps and you’ll find the dining room, a great social space for sharing stories from your daytime adventures and planning the days ahead. The kitchen is well-equipped to cater for all your culinary needs and there’s a small table to enjoy a quick breakfast at before heading out exploring. A shower room completes the ground floor. Head upstairs where you’ll find three bedrooms with stunning views of the castle ruins and surrounding valley fields. The master bedroom boasts a king-size bed, and the other two bedrooms provide a double bed and twin beds. The family bathroom offers a clean, contemporary space with shower over the bath.

Outside there is a lawn area with garden furniture and a barbecue for outdoor feasts. Enjoy watching the sun go down with a glass of your favourite tipple. There’s also a secure garage for storing bikes.

Reviews

A beautifully decorated and equipped cottage, set in a picturesque location. Highly tecommend. Local pub and food store a short walk away with a superstore just 10 min drive away.

Miss B,

We had a great stay at this cottage, everything was perfect, comfy beds & furniture & very spacious. Flint cottage was very well stocked with everything you need for a lovely enjoyable holiday

Mrs M,

We all really enjoyed our stay at Flint House. Everything was spotlessly clean and everything you could want catered for. Lots of little touches that made it extra special. Didn’t have to worry about anything. Great guide book and leaflets in the house for places to visit and eat out. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

Mr L,

Flint House was very well equipped and comfortable for our party of 6 plus 2 small dogs. Very well placed for exploring all that Norfolk has to offer.

Mr M,

The cottage was excellent in terms of equipment, facilities and space. Effective heating/hot water system, with the addition of a super little wood burner, when required. It was a good size for our family group, providing adequate opportunity to enable everyone to be comfortable.
