Description

Full of character, this delightful timber cabin makes a fantastic bolthole for two guests seeking a peaceful holiday home in a beautiful part of Lancashire. Lying close to the border with North Yorkshire, the stylishly arranged lodge is perfect for bird watchers, wildlife spotters, anglers and walkers discovering the glorious countryside of the Pendle region. The property lies at the head of the serene Whitemoor Reservoir, with Langroyd Country Park to the south (2 miles) nestling between Lake Burwain and Foulridge Upper Reservoir. The friendly market town of Colne (3.5 miles) has a choice of great places to eat and drink, providing a perfect spot to unwind after a wonderful day exploring Pendle Hill (6.5 miles). The local area has a wealth of attractions and historic landmarks including Thornton Hall Country Park, Gawthorpe Hall, Queen Street Mill Textile Museum and the Pendle Sculpture Trail, all within 11 miles.

Entering this stunning single-level retreat, you will be greeted by the characterful, fresh and cosy open-plan lounge/diner/bedroom. The cheery lounge has a Smart TV and comfortable seating, with a lovely open fire in a large surround, perfect for relaxing in front of after an exhilarating day. There’s a small dining table to one side, perfect for sharing romantic meals which you can prepare in the stylishly organised kitchen to the rear. A small step leads from the lounge into the charming bedroom, with a sumptuous king-size bed and a freestanding rolltop bath situated by the window and looking out across the reservoir. The accommodation is rounded off with a refreshing shower room.

Stepping outside, the covered veranda has a handy bench and makes a pleasant spot to sit out, drink in hand, as you take in the beautiful views. The garden also has a lawn and a built-in BBQ area, and leads down to the water’s edge. A short bridge takes you over to a picnic bench offering a delightful spot for watching the local wildlife. Ample off-road parking is available. Please note : the lodge is accessed down a short pathway of approximately 25 steps bringing you out onto the side of the water. Whitemoor Reservoir feeds into the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and therefore the reservoir water level can be quite low in the summer months and during particularly dry spells.
