Description
The Oyster Bed is a beautiful cottage in the pretty and bohemian seaside village of Alnmouth. Famous for its seafront houses, inviting shoreline and long stretch of golden sandy beach, Alnmouth is a well-known small village on the Northumbrian coastline. Hosting an array of pubs, restaurants, gorgeous gift shops and art galleries, Alnmouth is the perfect village for a relaxing retreat by the sea.
The Oyster Bed is a coastal retreat that comfortably sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms. This gorgeous cottage in Alnmouth has pretty seating in the south-facing front garden so you can enjoy the village life in the sun during the warmer months. The lounge houses a wood-burning stove and embraces open-plan living, which is ideal for families and friends to socialise whatever the season.
The beach can be reached in just 10 minutes on foot and all the pubs in Alnmouth are dog friendly. 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome and there’s free unlimited Wi-Fi. 1 private parking space available as well as some street parking, The Oyster Bed also comes with a EV charging point on site too. The garden at the front is a suntrap with views of the estuary and the wood-burning stove is warm and welcoming in the cooler months.
The Oyster bed has a separate utility room which is ideal for dogs to sleep in at night. Two dogs are welcome (no bigger than a Labrador).
Accommodation: a three bedroom semi detached house, set over two floors.
Ground Floor
Entrance: There are two doors into the property; the front door leading into a porch then into the hallway, or the back door which leads straight into the utility room. The garden at the front is enclosed and is south facing, so on sunny days it’s a lovely place to sit all day long.
Utility Room/WC: A very useful room for storage, keeping boots and coats and a cosy place for dogs to sleep at night. The utility room houses the washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board and other cleaning aids. There is a door leading outside from this room too, which is handy to use upon returning from a walk. Downstairs WC also available with handbasin.
Diner Kitchen: The open plan kitchen is a great space for socialising, with plenty of surface space and an additional island. With windows on two elevations plus French doors leading out to the sheltered patio, the kitchen offers a bright and airy space to enjoy breakfast or dinner in the evenings. The kitchen houses all the usual appliances, including a fridge/freezer, electric fan oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, and toaster. A washing machine and tumble dryer are housed in the utility room. The picnic-style dining table can very comfortably sit six guests to dine. There are also two occasional chairs that can be moved between the kitchen and the lounge for alternative seating.
Lounge: The cosy lounge has a coastal Scandi style to the decor and is centred around the wood-burning stove, with a Smart TV and full access to Netflix, Bose Bluetooth speaker and sofa seating for six guests. The lounge is open plan to the dining area in the kitchen.
1st Floor
Master Bedroom with En-suite: Located at the end of the landing at the back of the cottage, this room has two huge windows on both elevations and is a very bright and airy room. This bedroom has a king size bed (5ft wide), plenty of storage and en-suite. In the-en suite you will find a walk-in large shower, WC, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. Luxury complimentary toiletries by Siabann are provided, as well as towels and luxury linens.
Bedroom 2: The second bedroom faces out to the front which is south facing and has a king size bed (5ft wide). The storage in this room is more than sufficient for two, luxury linens and towels are provided, as well as a hairdryer.
Bedroom 3: At the rear of the cottage, you’ll find the spacious third bedroom with two full size single beds (3ft wide). There is plenty of storage in here too and a wall-mounted Smart TV. Luxury linens, towels and a hairdryer are provided.
Family bathroom: The gorgeous family bathroom is very spacious, with a separate bath, large walk-in shower, WC and wash hand basin. Natural light floods in through the east-facing window and luxury complimentary toiletries by Siabann are provided.
Gardens: There is a sheltered patio to the back of the cottage which can be accessed from the kitchen. You’ll find occasional seating here. At the front of the cottage, you’ll find tables and chairs enough for all guests on the grassed area and soft seating on the raised terrace. If the gates are kept closed, the garden area is enclosed. Dogs are not to be left outside unattended. Outside tap for muddy boots and paws!
Heating: Gas central heating and wood burning stove in lounge.
Parking: Behind the Oyster Bed you will find a private parking space for one car. Additional cars can be parked in Alnmouth village, where there are no parking charges.
