Reviews

The Boathouse at Bamburgh is a great place to stay. The location is perfect - nestled into the sand dunes next to Bamburgh Castle with rear access onto the the amazing Bamburgh Beach. There are four pubs/restaurants in village - we have eaten at three of them and were very happy. The bedrooms are all a nice size with two of them having outstanding views over the beach and to the castle! The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of pots/pans and crockery. The space worked well for our party of seven adults and two dogs - although an extra loo in addition to the ones in the main bathroom and en-suite would have made it perfect. We all had a fabulous week and will definitely be looking to come back again next year.

Mr H,

Could not fault anything about the cottage, it was even better than we imagined, location, quality, comfort and cosiness was faultless. Our biggest compliment would be we would be more than happy to spend the rest of our days there :-) , we will return.

Mr A,

We had a very enjoyable family holiday. The location of the cottage is perfect for both the beach and the village, however property is showing signs of wear and tear and needs some TLC.

Mr H,

Location very good. However cleanliness in house poor in places which detracts from overall appeal

Mrs P,

Enjoyed a great week in the property, absolutely everything we needed and in a perfect position for beach fun.

Mr D,

Location was fantastic it was great being able to nip back to the house. The enclosed courtyard meant the kids could be sand free before entering the house.

Mr R,

The cottage is in an amazing setting, nestled among the dunes at the foot of Bamburgh Castle so the location is perfect for the beach but is also only a short stroll to the excellent butchers, three pubs and delis in the village. The road on which the cottage is located is quiet at night although it is very near two beach car parks so there is some traffic during the day. The kitchen was well appointed and the sitting room ideal for us to watch the Euro final. The three double bedrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. There were only three of us staying so the cottage was fine for us but be aware that if all the bedrooms are occupied by two people per bedroom then as one bedroom is en suite, it means there will be only one loo available (in the family bathroom) for the remaining occupants of the other three bedrooms.

Mr B,

We love this cottage, it was our third time, we love Bamburgh and have happy family memories across the generations and hope to return.

Miss A,

Lovely cottage in a perfect location. Some things may be a little 'tired' or lacking in places but we managed fine and had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Miss A,

Fantastic location, comfortable house and well equipped.

Mr G,

The Boat House is in a superb location for access to the beach, some lovely walks and is also very handy for the village centre; there is excellent parking at the property. The king size bed downstairs was extremely comfortable, better than my own bed at home. However, I was very disappointed with the state of the barbecue, which was rusty and dirty, as were some of the chairs and the glass table.

Mrs H,

A stunning location . We very much enjoyed our stay , though some of the equipment could do with an update

Ms D,

This is a lovely property, in the perfect location. The property is very spacious, warm and comfortable with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. There is easy parking for 3 cars. We will definitely return.

Mr W,

a brilliant position ... good parking ... the youngest member of the party enjoyed the ice and cold water coming from the fridge ... the dogs loved the quick access to the beach ...

Mrs M,

Beautiful cottage in a fabulous location. However unfortunate issues with plumbing and lots of dirty cutlery/glasses/ crockery on arrival. Possibly due to same plumbing issues affecting dishwasher as well as kitchen sink

Mrs C,

A lovely historic cottage located very close to the beach.

Mr S,

Spacious cottage, ideal location, great views of the beach and glorious Bamburgh castle, loved being so close to the beach.

Mrs E,

Feedback- notes in the property said to put bedding and towels in bags provided, but there wasn’t any. More toilet paper and bin bags would be useful. Matches or lighter to light wood burner would be useful. Everything thing else was great.

Mrs C,
