Reviews

We adored this cottage. Two adults, two kids and two dogs. I’ve never stayed anywhere that has been as full stocked with things to make us more comfortable. From fully stocked kitchen equipment, to lots of games and dvds, books, dog bowls and treats, Ice dispenser, torches and night lights. The owners really have thought of everything to make their guests have the best and most relaxing stay. We really felt sad having to leave. Can’t wait to go back.

Mrs M,

Wonderful property in a great location. Clean, beautifully presented and very well appointed.

Mr W,

The cottage as everything you need. It’s in an amazing location as is less then 30 mins away from nearby attractions and is also in a Peaceful and quiet location with wonderful views. Enjoying days out and coming back to the cottage to relax in front of the log burner

Mr B,

The cottage is very well located for exploration of the sights of this part of Northumberland. The parking was very convenient, the key safe is a very convenient facility and the small community is quiet and peaceful. We found all that we needed in the modern kitchen. The house is modern but cosy and we were very comfortable during our stay.

Mrs B,

Beautiful cottage conveniently located close to the A1 but in a very quiet rural area. The cottage was very comfortable, well furnished & the welcome ‘goody bag’ was a lovely surprise on arrival. Would happily stay again as it was an excellent base to explore to north Northumberland.

Mrs H,

A beautiful cottage, well equipped to a high standard. Lovely location. Lots of information given on local attractions. Cottage well stocked with amazing range of books and games.

Mrs G,

The Nook is set in a lovely, tranquil location yet close to the A1 and within easy reach of all the area's attractions. The accommodation is comfortable, well equipped and provides an ideal holiday home. Thoroughly recommended.

Mr B,

The Nook is a beautiful barn conversion which is very well set up. It is in a rural location so is lovely and peaceful and yet it doesn’t take long to get to the gorgeous Northumberland beaches and shopping facilities in Bamburgh and Seahouses as well as a short drive down the A1 to Alnwick for larger supermarkets. I am sure we will be returning to The Nook of the North before too long!

Mrs C,

This is the ideal get away location. It was our first trip to Northumberland, and we couldn't have chosen a better cottage. It is easy to get to from the A1 and close to Alnwick and the coast - without being on the coast. The cottage is light airy and spacious, with everything we needed for our stay. The bed was just the best, huge and incredibly comfortable. There was also plenty of extra bedding. The cottage was warm, despite the unseasonably cold weather, and we didn't need to light the wood burner. Loved having the parking right outside the door. Everything was spot on - but had to mention the thoughtful touches, like the range of phone chargers, and the helpful guide to the area. (Especially loved the recommendation sent by text while we were en-route, with a great recommendation for a stop off)

Mr P,

Amazing cottage so well equipped, literally thought of everything to make your stay stress free. The albums created for walks and for the cottage were fantastic information , thankyou so much. Beautiful location and stunning time.

Mrs D,

Comfortable accommodation and beautifully decorated. Kitchen ware is very well stocked. The location is great for either coast or inland hill adventures. Dog friendly too with bowls and biscuits. We all enjoyed our week here.

Mrs V,

Well equipped and comfortable cottage which easily meets it four stars status High quality towels and linen provided and lots of small personal touches to make you feel very welcome

Mr P,

I found the Nook to be a beautiful, clean, well equipped and cosy cottage. It is in a wonderful peaceful location, but close to amazing beaches and the lovely town of Alnwick. The owners have thought of everything, we stayed over Christmas and were so pleased to see the cottage decorated for the festive season and the welcome hamper of local goodies was very much appreciated, there were even treats for our dog

Mrs O,

Not a bad thing to say about the Nook - we loved it!!. A very clean and beautifully deisgned cottage, set in a peaceful location with easy access to the many attractions in this region of Northumberland. Thank you for all your hard work making the cottage so well equipped, and providing information on all the stunning walks, and interesting places to visit in the area. The perfect holiday. Would undoubtedly recommend your cottage to anyone.

Miss W,

We were blown away by The Nook. We are seasoned travellers who have rented properties for many years and this one is the best ever. It is in an ideal location and the neighbouring properties are not too near, plus the permanent residents are friendly. The property is equipped to the highest standard and the owners have thought of everything. It feels you are staying in a home not a holiday let. It is a quiet location and has easy access to so many interesting places. Highly recommended.

Dr C,

Beautiful cottage with great attention detail in the design and equipment. A perfect eating and relaxing space has been created here, which is perfect for holidays. A peaceful and pretty location in a sweet group of stone cottages but excellently located to explore the region and all the sights. You won’t be disappointed!

Mrs B,

We are very impressed with 'Origibal Cotrages'. They made the booking and payment easy. Directions to the property were spot in. The property was gorgeous in every way with so many 'extras' and high quality equipment. We were extremely pleased.

Mrs Shirley J,

The Nook was the best equipped most comfortable holiday accommodation we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. It felt like “Home”. Great location central to all Northumberland has to offer. The hoists have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, great beds, sofas, toys and games, TV and massive selection of books. With a comprehensive information book on the Cottage and Northumberland’s attractions and walking guide. This cottage more than deserves Five Stars.

Mr Alan M,

Absolutely loved ‘The Nook’! Peaceful but well connected, really lovely place to stay. Would absolutely stay again.

Dr H,
