Description
Cosy country cottage situated along a quiet lane just outside the centre of Lowick village, within walking distance to two pubs with restaurants, and village shop. The cottage offers good quality accommodation for up to 4 people at ground floor level (there is an additional facility upstairs for children/teenagers in a snug attic room at additional charge). Easy road access to A1, Holy Island and the Coast. Locally good walking area from the cottage. Property accepts dogs, has wi-fi and log burning stove, and an enclosed westerly facing courtyard.

- Whilst the property is predominantly ground floor, there are some interior changes of level. The staircase to the attic room is narrow and steep

Location
Just up the coast from the Farne Islands and only 10 minutes drive to Holy Island causeway - subject to the safe Holy Island Crossing Times - drive across to explore this remarkable Island.
Alternatively St Cuthbert's Way, a 62 mile walk, passes through Fenwick the next village towards the coast and onto Holy Island. Why not try the last leg and within 30 minutes you could be on the beach - follow the Pilgrims' Route across to Holy Island, subject to the safe Holy Island Crossing Times, where on arrival you will have earned the relaxing refreshment and unique atmosphere that awaits you.
Close at hand westward is Ford and Etal Estate with nursery garden, art gallery, fishing, working mill, coffee, gift and local produce shop also a replica Stone Age Henge or for a little more recent history visit the site of the famous Flodden battle site. On a sunny day sit out and enjoy a drink in the beer garden at Northumberland's only Thatched Pub - The Black Bull at Etal, all within 20 minutes drive.
Lowick Village has 2 pubs both serving food. Nearby are the villages of Fenwick with access to the A1 and Ford & Etal. Wooler and Berwick the larger market towns are approximately 20-30 minutes drive.
A short drive from Lowick
- Bamburgh Castle sits atop rocky outcrop overlooking the beach,
- 20 miles south Alnwick Castle and Garden a popular spot for those with green fingers, and Harry Potter fans (the castle was Hogwarts and the site of the quiddich pitch in the 1st two films

- Alnmouth for Alnwick station is approx 25 miles south - a mainline station on the North East Coastal line with regular stops from London to Edinburgh
- Berwick upon Tweed approx 15 miles north - a mainline station on the North East Coastal line with regular stops from London to Edinburgh
Bus:
- Buses run by Arriva and Travelsure the X15 and the X18 services run north and south along the coast from Berwick to Newcastle
Airport:
- Newcastle International is approx 50 miles south,
- Edinburgh Airport is approx 90 miles north
- Both airports have daily internal flights from a number of UK locations, and international flights on a regular basis.
- Car hire is available from both airports.
Cycling:
- Sustrans Coast and Castles Route 1 passes through the area and nearby Holy Island is a popular stopping point.
