Description

Tucked away in Craster is this delightful cottage with accommodation over three floors and views out to sea – an ideal getaway for couples, friends or small families. There is a coffee shop in the village that sells basic supplies; for a more substantial shop there is Embleton (3 miles) or Alnwick (7.5 miles) for a variety of pubs, shop, restaurants and supermarkets. The ruins of Dunstanburgh castle (150 metres) are an obvious choice for a visit, but there’s also Bamburgh Castle, 13 miles further up the coast. Bamburgh also has a golf club (14 miles) with fantastic scenery and a beautiful stretch of golden sands (13 miles) on the coast. If you take a boat over to Holy Island (28 miles) you are in with the chance of spotting all kinds of wonderful wildlife, including dolphins, seals and puffins among hundreds of other species.

Cosy up together on comfortable seating in front of the wood burner in the cosy lounge with exposed beams and a TV, or enjoy a sociable meal in the spacious and well-appointed kitchen/diner. Both rooms are bright and airy yet still retain that warm, homely atmosphere. On the next floor up, you will find both bedrooms – a king-size and a twin - with refreshing sea views and a relaxing bathroom, featuring splashes of colour. The top floor of the property is magical – the attic has been converted into a tranquil, lofty retreat with an array of comfortable seating to choose from, a TV, and side tables for your hot drinks and books. The decor is light and bright, aided by the natural light flooding in from the multiple skylights, and warmed up with wooden accents from the flooring and exposed beams.

When you’re not out exploring the rich Northumberland countryside, make the most of the property’s large lawned garden, for catching the sun or letting off steam.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 twin
  • 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and WC
  • Electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine
  • Travel cot, highchair and stairgate available on request (the travel cot does not include a mattress or bedding)
  • Wood burner
  • TVs and DVD players in both lounges
  • No mobile signal, landline provided
  • Large lawned garden
  • Private parking for 1 car
  • Shop 3 miles, pub 0.2 miles, beach 2 miles

Brilliant cottage! Spotlessly clean, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. It's in a great location, with gorgeous views of the sea and the castle. We loved our stay and will definitely book again.

Absolutely outstanding place, everything we needed for our break Super clean, great location, fantastic rooms (especially the top lounge- our teenage girls lived this) Thank you for providing such a wonderful place

Miss K,

Beautiful cottage in a lovely peaceful spot with glorious views out to sea and up the coast to Dunstanburgh Castle. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equipped and plenty of space for a family of four.

Mrs F,

Incredible location and very clean. The attic in particular is amazing place to relax. Unfortunately at the dates of our stay there were builders next door so quite a lot of noise and disruption.

Mr B,

Loved the cottage location and views from every window, especially the attic room - the Juliet balcony really made the cottage special.

Miss H,

A lovely little cottage. Very well located. We will return.

Mr W,

Great cottage - loved the location and being able to hear and see the sea.

Ms A,

The location cannot be beaten in Craster. Very comfortable and homely.

Mr L,

Beautiful cottage with a great location. The upstairs room overlooking the fields and the castle is just stunning. Really well equipped kitchen and a tv that seemed to show everything (save live TV!). Beautiful views. Really lovely place.

Ms L,

The cottage is in a beautiful position overlooking Dunstanburgh castle. We were warm even without the log burner. The beds were very comfortable. The top floor room was delightful…light and warm with wonderful views. Manoeuvring out of the parking spot was a bit tricky. Not to be attempted in a very big car.

Mr T,

A lovely place to stay, very comfortable, clean and quiet

Mrs A,

Beautiful cottage with great views. It was very well equipped with a comfortable big bed with lovely linen. Bring logs/kindling with you for the wood burner as a starter pack isn’t provided. We would definitely return!

Mrs H,

A clean, well equipped, spacious cottage in a fabulous location (castle can be seen from the top floor). Can’t recommend it any higher than to say we have already booked it again.

Mrs N,

Just returned from a lovely week at Castle Point Cottage. Great location and very cosy. Perfect for our family of 2 adults and 2 children.
