Access Statement For Aloha Cottage, Harcour Court, Seahouses
Introduction
Aloha is a single storey 2 bedroomed cottage in Seahouses. It is approached from the road onto a block paved drive and accessed through the main front door of the Cottage.
Parking is for one car on the drive. There is a 25 cm step up to the front door, into a porch way with coat hooks and shoe storage to the right. an inner door opening to the right into the main lounge. once inside the property there are no stairs.

Pre-Arrival
• We have an extensive website, with pictures of the rooms.
• All guests are provided with written directions to the apartment (available on request in dyslexia friendly font - Lexia).
• The nearest bus stop is on King Street approx 200 meters away,
Chathill Railway Station is 5 miles away.
• Taxis can be booked by telephone - (Parks Taxi, Dial-a-ride)

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• Parking for 1 car on the block paved driveway.
• Outside the cottage the pavements are in good repair, and generally the area is level.

Main Entrance & Reception
• The main entrance is the front door. The key for this door is located in the key safe to the left of the door, you will receive the code with your directions.
• The front door has a thresh of 5cm through a door 70cm x 179cm, the keyhole is 88cm high.
• The front door opens into the hall area and is hinged on the right. The flooring is carpet.
• Through the inner door hinged to the right, 73cm wide x 197cm high.
• The light switch is on left.
• The lounge diner is 4600cm by 3600cm with a large leather sofa and chair (seat height 39cm, dining table 136cm x 106cm and four chairs.
• TV is wall hung.
• Floor is carpeted.

Self-Catering Kitchen
• The kitchen is off the hall, the floor is tiled. Fire blanket at 190cm high is right hand of door frame.
• The work surface is 92cm high and 60cm deep, granite. The sink and electric hob are also at 92cm high.
• Above the hob is an extractor unit which operates by controls at the front, there are wall cupboards as well as under bench cupboards and drawers.
• A microwave is also available on the work bench to the right of the hob.
• The dishwasher is under bench to the left of the sink. The door opens from the top downwards.
• There is an integrated fridge/freezer.
• Catering standard crockery is provided in the cupboards above and below the work surfaces. Glasses and cups etc are in the wall cupboards.
• The electric oven can be accessed from the front. The oven door grill is under bench height.
• The kitchen is lit by the main room lights which are switched on the wall right of the door.

Shop
The nearest shop is the convenience store at the Garage about 200 metres away.
Followed by the shops on Seahouses Main Street.

• Entrance fees are charged per visit.

Outdoor Facilities
• The property has an enclosed garden mainly laid to grass with a small flagged patio.
• The garden access is via a door from the main bedroom.
• There is also an access gate in the garden fence at the bottom of the garden onto a quiet pedestrian track.

• The room dimensions are: 4400cm x 2500cm.
• The door is hinged on the right, the door is 70cm wide x 197cm high.
• There is a double bed and this will have been made up as per your bed make up request.
• All bedding is cotton or percale with non feather pillows and quilt.
• The space to the left of the bed is 160cm wide.
• The space to the right of the bed is 110cm.
• The main room light has a switch next to the door on the left. There are two separate bedside lamps available by each side of the bed.
• There is a chest of drawers height 86cm, and a mirror 87cm high above the drawers.
• There is a door to the rear garden access from this bedroom the door is 137cm wide x 197cm high and opens outwards. There is a step down 150cm wide x 20cm high to the flagged area. where there is a table and 4 chairs.

Bedroom 2
• The room dimensions are: 3200cm by 1950cm.
• The bedroom door is hinged on the right and the door is 70cm wide x 197cm high.
• There is a standard 4 ft size double bed 60cm high.
• All bedding is cotton or percale with non feather pillows and quilt.
• The space to the left of the standard double is 40cm wide, to the right of the bed is 30cm with bedside cabinets max height 67cm.
• There is a wardrobe max height 180cm on the right as you enter the room.
• The light switch is on the left as you enter the room.

Bathroom
• This is accessed from the hall opposite the kitchen.
• The room is tiled to floor and walls, there is a bath height 50cm. The shower is over bath and is electric operated.
• Bath room door 74cm wide by 199cm high, and is hinged on the right.
• The toilet seat is 44cm high - the space to the right is 66cm and to the left 44cm. The sink height is 86cm.

• A Welcome Folder is provided at the cottage, plus separate leaflets for all manufacturers instruction are in the hall drawers. Maps and places of interest leaflets are also in the hall.

Aloha is a cosy single-story stone cottage, situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in Seahouses village perfect for families or a group of friends looking for a coastal getaway. Local shops, pubs and cafes are located close by as well as famous stretches of beaches and coves. Take a boat ride out to the isle of Lindisfarne to spot the rare birds and seals, or explore the historical corridors of Bamburgh Castle. The village on Beadnell also offers some more adventurous opportunities such as windsurfing, wakeboarding and diving.

A lovely small bungalow, just a short walk from the centre of Seahouses. Very comfortable beds, constant hot water and dog friendly. The property was extremely clean and welcome gifts a lovely surprise.

Location was very good with only a 5 min walk into Seahouses. The property itself was in need of some tlc. Even something as simple as cable ties from the tv would help. Some old and not so old damp patches showing and whoever installed the front door and bedroom patio doors need a talking to as both are possible areas for damp to encroach. The garden was just laid to lawn, which is fine, but all the flower pots had weeds in and didn’t look as if they have been touched for quite some time.

Firstly we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seahouses, the cottage was very nice and reasonably well equipped ( a bit more cutlery would have been good and together with crockery would have saved regular dishwasher usage. Location was a bit of an issue the cottage being quite a distance from the town centre therefore a long walk although post 6pm a town centre park was free and allowed access to varied eating houses.
