Reviews

Fantastic situation just across from the beach

Miss C,

Fantastic house with stunning views. Great location.

Mrs S,

The cottage is very spacious both inside and out and with the views of the Farne Islands and proximity to the beach and town an idea spot. The whole family thorough enjoyed our stay.

Mr P,

Firstly the location of the house is amazing and the rooms are very spacious. We were contacted prior to the holiday to say there was some superficial issues with the house and we were offered the opportunity to cancel the booking, with just 2 1/2 weeks' notice we decided to keep the booking not quite knowing how severe this would be. Yes the house does need some TLC, there appears to have been some water damage/damp issues and there is mould on several walls/ceilings and flaking paint BUT according to the housekeeping staff (who had to revisit as the beds had been made up incorrectly) the owner is intending on addressing this over the winter as the property is fully booked until then. The proximity to the beach and Seahouses was perfect, it was nice and quiet at night and the garden space was welcomed on the sunny days. We had a lovely stay and would happily book again once the property has been redecorated.

Mrs H,

We would have had a lovely stay if the property had been better kept. We also had 24 hours without hot water unfortunately this was on a Sunday! We phoned the emergency number at Original Cottages and due to a lack of communications we were still waiting for a plumber to attend when we retired for the night. This really did put the nail in the coffin of our family weekend. Sorry we will not be using this firm or this cottage again.

Mrs W,

Lovely property to stay in with excellent access to the beach.

Mrs M,

Perfect for our needs. Three generations and a dog. Wonderful views. Wonderful garden. Safe for children and dogs. Everything we needed. Excellent location for beach, walks and shops.

Mrs J,

Beautiful accommodation in a perfect location

Miss C,

The cottage could be truly wonderful but sadly feels a bit neglected, it was clean but very tired and needs some attention. We were in two minds whether to stay for the full 5 nights we'd booked, partly due to the damp/foisty smell but also due to a feeling of unease we both had whilst in the property. We decided to stay as we'd made plans to see a lot of the surrounding area, we were lucky with the weather so spent much of the time away from the property and simply used it as a base. The rear garden is very large and would have been great for our two dogs but there was a broken fence panel at the rear and it backs onto a field with sheep and young lambs so we had to be extremely careful whilst using it. All that being said, it is in a great location and the view from the front of the property is a delight. There are photos on the wall of a family that used to live there, which was a nice touch, and the local tea/coffee provided was welcomed.

Mr M,

An excellent place to stay, garden was lovely for our 2 dogs and also equipped excellently for them as well. Well situated for walking into Seahouses, so close to all amenities. Beach is lovely and a lovely walk to Bamburgh

Mrs D,

This is a wonderful place to stay - just across the road from the beach with views out to the Farne Islands from the front of the house, and a beautiful garden at the back of the house. Our family has stayed here more times than I can remember in the last 20 years - it's always our 1st choice of holiday cottages in Northumberland. The house is really lovely, well equipped and spacious.

Mrs L,

Fantastic cottage stunning view

mrs W,

Amazing cottage with stunning views! Really didn't want to come home. Even our dog was sad to leave. Huge garden for him to run around in and what dog doesn't enjoy playing ball on the beach! Garden fence however has lots of gaps in. We used a spike and longline for our Lakeland terrier or he would have off after all those lovely scent trails! The cottage is well equipped and we felt very much at home. It was hard to leave those views to go out and explore. Lovely welcome pack.

Mrs C,

We've booked The Cottage several times for New Years Eve and also during the summer as we always have a relaxing, comfortable break. The location is ideal for the amazing views and also to the beach for our daily walk along to Bamburgh and to The Copper Kettle for lunch. We will definitely continue to book The Cottage for future holiday and also recommend it to friends and family.

Mr B,

Excellent, spacious accommodation. Beautiful views of the coast. Would love to stay here again.

Ms H,

We've been here many times now and are already booked in for 2024. We absolutely love it.

Mrs S,

Perfect property for groups. Location overlooking the bay and Bambugh Castle and walking distance to Seahouses. Couldn't fault it. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to friends.

Ms K,

This is our second time to seahouses. We absolutely love this house and the view to the sea. Been to Lindisfarne and the castle also lots of lovely places to visit. Also we had fantastic weather. I would recommend this house to everyone.

Mr A,

Amazing location. Great garden for little ones.

Mr C,

Great location for leaving the car parked up and walking to the beach, harbour and Seahouses town with some great restaurants, pubs and shops. Property was clean and comfortable and perfect for a group stay with plenty of beds that could be split into singles. Would highly recommend this property especially if you require bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor. Also spacious and private garden with secure gates and fence all round to keep young children and pets safe from the main road. Road quiet in the evening and morning and with black out curtains you don’t get woken up to noise or sunlight. Just perfect !
