Description

A neat and well-appointed stone cottage, this home from home is finished to a very high standard. Set back from the main coastal road which runs between this attractive fishing village and a host of attractions that line the Northumberland shoreline, it’s the perfect base for a large family or group of friends with children and an activity-laden agenda. Seahouses (0.5 miles) is home to a working harbour, shops, pubs and restaurants and an attractive coastline. The village is dominated by a vast sandy beach which stretches to Bamburgh (3 miles), itself home to an iconic castle and bustling village. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne (19 miles) boasts an imposing castle, priory ruins and an abundance of bird life.

After entering the property via a utility room, you’ll find yourself in a large dining room that enjoys sea views and has seamless access to the kitchen. Similar views can be found in the lounge, where a range of comfortable seating is arranged around a wood burner. A super-king bedroom and a single bedroom can be found on the ground floor, as can a family bathroom and separate shower room, allowing for flexible family living. Three more bedrooms are on the first floor: a twin room with views of the Cheviot Hills, a single room with garden views and a double room with sea views. A shower room completes the accommodation.

The outside of the property is just as attractive, with a lawned garden to the front and side, along with a lawned garden with furniture on the small patio to the rear - just the place for a debrief after a long day on the beach.

  • 5 bedrooms - 1 super-king-size zip-and-link bed than can be made up as a twin on request, 1 double, 1 twin, 2 singles

Reviews

This is an absolute gem of a holiday cottage - a beautiful, well equipped house, lovely garden, loads of parking and honestly it couldn’t be closer or better placed for the beach! You can lie in bed and listen to the sea! We’ve stayed here many times and love it. The owner is constantly making changes to make it even better - this year we were inspired by the beautiful colours in the redecoration. Just gorgeous. As the weather can be a bit unpredictable, it’s also worth mentioning the lovely sitting area in the kitchen that looks out over the beach.

Mrs L,

A lovely house. It is well appointed, warm, comfortable and spacious. There is plenty parking space and a very large garden with outdoor table and chairs. The views of the Farne islands and the local beaches are superb. Highly recommended!

Ms M,

This cottage is in an absolutely gorgeous location with views out to sea. We were a group of friends coming from different locations and there was plenty of parking and lots of space inside to relax - particularly with the fire on at night ! Thank you for a lovely stay !

Miss C,

An excellent place to stay, garden was lovely for our 2 dogs and also equipped excellently for them as well. Well situated for walking into Seahouses, so close to all amenities. Beach is lovely and a lovely walk to Bamburgh

Mrs D,

This is a wonderful place to stay - just across the road from the beach with views out to the Farne Islands from the front of the house, and a beautiful garden at the back of the house. Our family has stayed here more times than I can remember in the last 20 years - it's always our 1st choice of holiday cottages in Northumberland. The house is really lovely, well equipped and spacious.

Mrs L,

Fantastic cottage stunning view

mrs W,

Amazing cottage with stunning views! Really didn't want to come home. Even our dog was sad to leave. Huge garden for him to run around in and what dog doesn't enjoy playing ball on the beach! Garden fence however has lots of gaps in. We used a spike and longline for our Lakeland terrier or he would have off after all those lovely scent trails! The cottage is well equipped and we felt very much at home. It was hard to leave those views to go out and explore. Lovely welcome pack.

Mrs C,

We've booked The Cottage several times for New Years Eve and also during the summer as we always have a relaxing, comfortable break. The location is ideal for the amazing views and also to the beach for our daily walk along to Bamburgh and to The Copper Kettle for lunch. We will definitely continue to book The Cottage for future holiday and also recommend it to friends and family.
