Description

This attractive cottage is ideal for a family or a small group of friends travelling together. Located in the old town area of Seahouses next to the harbour, this retreat is nestled between historic buildings and fishermen’s cottages. Guests can step out of the front door and breathe in the fresh sea air – the waterfront is immediately in sight along with the bustle of the town’s working harbour. All of the amenities of Seahouses are a few hundred metres away with several friendly pubs and restaurants to enjoy. Wandering along the narrow streets, visitors will find many interesting shops to browse and plenty of cafes and coffee houses to call in on. For a day out, boat trips sail from the harbour to see the wildlife of the Farne Islands. Depending on the season you could see puffins, seals and jumping dolphins playing in the water. The impressive castle at Bamburgh is just 3.5 miles away and the whole of the Northumberland Heritage Coast stretches out in both directions offering fantastic walking.

The cottage is welcoming and warm with a stylishly simple aesthetic throughout. An open-plan lounge and dining room is the heart of the house with wooden floors, comfortable sofas and a wood burner. The kitchen is bright and inviting, equipped with all you need to cook up your holiday feasts. An open staircase leads up from the living room to the first floor where there are three bedrooms and a charming family bathroom featuring a shower over a bath. The bedrooms are made up of a lovely double, a twin and a single room, with a small TV and DVD in the twin room for entertaining the kids.

Just outside the back door is a small open patio area set with a furniture.

Reviews

Absolutely loved the cottage - location, furniture, cosy feel. Kitchen was pretty well stocked with equipment. Comfy beds.

Miss F,

Fantastic location let down by a tired property.

Mr E,

Nice property in a good location - though parking can be a bit awkward - it was ideal for our short stay.

Mr B,

The cottage was nice but very small for 5 adults. The main problem was the parking outside the cottage as there has never been a space for us. There is a problem of damp and smell of damp in the sitting room and in the twin bedroom. Electrical cooker and oven very old and smelled of fish. There were not instructions on how to organize the rubbish, especially the glass. Overall the cottage was expensive considering what was offered and the office did never reply to us eithet on the telephone or on the email.

Mrs M,

Lovely cottage with a lot of extras. Kitchen utensils, few bits in stock cupboard and board games all not expected. A lot of the cottage is tired and could do with some paint Cottage nicely situated along top, over looks harbour if look window.

Ms S,

Location is great, close to everything. Seahouses is lovely. However, the property had insufficient room to park our estate car and nowhere suitable nearby.

Mrs D,

Needs painting there is damp patches by the door and paint peeing off . The plug in the bathroom would not work other wise everything else was good . Also there was a big laundry bag with I think bedding ect in it left in the front bedroom by the wardrobe

Mrs H,

Lovely cottage, a little tired inside, feels as if it needs repainting now. Parking - instructions were to park outside the front door - which one would assume was on the street. Alas it is at the back of the house through a very tight 'tunnel archway' so if you have a largish car this is very tight to get in and once in the courtyard area there are other cars parked from the neighbouring cottages

Mr W,

Good location unfortunately would benefit from decorating updating and general attention to detail poor for parking

Mr B,

A well equipped comfortable cottage in a lovely location yards from the harbour.

Mr S,

This cottage is ideally situated by the harbour with easy access to the beaches. It’s in a quiet location with local pubs, restaurants and supermarket on your doorstep. Quite the best fish and chips and great ice cream yoo.

Mrs S,

Lovely property in a great location close to the harbour, pubs and shops but away from the busiest areas. The cottage was well furnished, very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and the fabulous beaches that Northumbria has and we have stayed in Seahouses many times, it never disappoints.
