Description

This lovely holiday home, perfect for families and groups of friends, is situated just a short walk from the sandy beach of Beadnell Bay with the village shop, pubs and cafes just a mile away. For wildlife lovers, the pretty seaside village of Seahouses is just 2 miles away. Here, visitors can take a boat trip around the Farne Islands with the chance to spot dolphins, seals and puffins. When you’re back on dry land, there are several cafes and traditional pubs to enjoy, and the first-rate fish and chips are not to be missed. You won’t have to travel far in Northumberland before you stumble across a castle or historic place of interest. Just 4 miles away is the famous Bamburgh castle, or take a lovely clifftop walk from Craster to see the ruins of Dunstanburgh. Alternatively, take the easy 15-mile drive to Alnwick where film fans can visit the castle which featured in many magical films. While you’re there, take a trip to the impressive Alnwick Gardens or the picturesque marketplace and enjoy a meal in one of the traditional pubs or stylish bistros.

Upon entering this spacious holiday home, you’ll find yourself in the comfortable lounge where the floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room with plenty of ample light. In the colder months, the comfortable L-shaped sofas are perfect for relaxing on in front of the wood burner or during the summer – sit in the sunshine and watch the world go by from the window seat. At the other end of the room, you’ll find a dining table with seating for six whilst the separate kitchen has everything you’ll need to rustle up a breakfast or an evening meal. Stairs from the lounge lead to the first floor where you’ll find two comfortable and elegantly styled double bedrooms with TV's and a bunk room. Finally, a modern family bathroom completes the property.

Outside, enjoy the sunshine in the garden equipped with a BBQ and fire pit.

Reviews

Great week at Prima cottage, place was clean, warm and welcoming. Hot water went off once but was sorted in half and hour by Rachel from the management company. Unlike previous comments the heating was controllable by the thermostat in the kitchen. Would recommend to anyone, we will be back.

Mr L,

Well equipped cottage with every comfort - perfect

Mrs W,

Property is ideally located for the beach. A good base for exploring the local area.

Mrs F,

Access to property is down an unmade private road which I imagine would be tricky in wet weather and parking on grass to the rear of the property. House is in Close proximity to the beach. (5 min walk) Property showing wear and tear and overall in need of some TLC. Although we didn't need it as the weather was good but this properties heating is controlled remotely which I have never come across before and would have made me weary of booking had we realised prior. We have stayed at much better properties for the money.

Mrs O,

Stayed 19 to 26 July. Excellent location. Literally two minute walk to the beach. Ten minute walk via caravan park to Beadnell village where there are places to eat and drink. There are two restaurants located closer to the cottage. The cottage was both cosy and well equipped. Very pleasantly surprised. The sitting room has large comfy sofas. Lovely log burner should you want to use it (very warm in the cottage so we didn’t use it). Kitchen is ample for cooking in. Has a full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washer/dryer which is a bonus. Bedrooms are light, airy and comfortable. Bathroom is spacious with a very nice bath and separate shower, just what you need after a day on the beach. Weather was warm so we ate all meals outside in the garden which is a sun trap and fully enclosed so safe for both children and dogs. Lovely for BBQ and eating outdoors. There are many visitor attractions in the area which will appeal to all ages. We will return to Prima Cottage next year if not before. Would recommend it.

Mrs S,

Nice house close to beach, fairly well equipped. Appeared clean but dog hair found under couch and sink.

Mrs B,

Good location . Not as big as looked in photos.

Mrs J,

The property is in a great location to access the beach.

Mr F,

We stayed at Prima Cottage for three nights. The location is superb. 50 yards in either direction gets you to either a rocky or sandy beach so it's great for entertaining kids, and in general the property is well equipped with necessities. On the downside, the house is a bit tired in places, and it's on the small side. While it can sleep 6

Mr B,

Lovely place to stay! Comfortable, warm and cosy. Walking distance to the beach. Idyllic even on a wet day!

Mrs S,

Location is fantastic, lots of things in the area to do. Easter welcome pack was a nice touch. Kitchen has all the equipment needed, and the shower is great, all you can need for a lovely time in Beadnell area.

Mrs H,

The property is in an excellent location so near to the beach. It is very well equipped especially the kitchen making it lovely to cook there. Kitchen is very small but ok if just one person cooking. It did take some figuring out of how to drive up to the property in the winter but we found it eventually. In the winter it was pretty chilly without the fire lit as you cannot control the heating but it’s cosy when lit. Will return in the warmer weather.

Mrs H,

I would most definitely not recommend this property. Original cottages have clearly not paid a visit. The approach to the cottage is on such a badly maintained road with extremely large dangerous potholes that we very nearly damaged our car every time we left or arrived back at the property. The only parking space is on grass that becomes very waterlogged. Never stayed anywhere before where the cleaners don’t even leave binbags in the bins and the heating is controlled remotely. Won’t be returning or using Original Cottages again.
