Reviews

The property is in an ideal position for walking in to Seahouses and all the different eating places harbour and boat trips 5mins away The property itself is generally well maintained and looks good

Mr N,

Kingfisher's Rest is a lovely, comfortable property in an excellent location with off-street parking. It has all amenities and equipment you could possibly need whether you self-cater or not. We would highly recommend as a great base to explore wonderful Northumberland.

Mr P,

Just lovely and cozy!

Mrs F,

Kingfisher Cottage is a home from home and has everything you need including off road parking. The welcome pack of necessities was a very nice touch. Lovely size bedroom and a great shower in the bathroom. We were staying in December/January so had some very cold days, the house always felt warm with the heating on. The cottage is only a 5 min walk to the main centre where you can find a Co-op and some lovely independent food and gift shops, 3 pubs and enough restaurants if you don’t fancy cooking… Would recommend walking on the beach to Bamburgh which takes about 1hr 20mins, visit the Grace Darling Museum while there, it’s an amazing story, this is based inside the RNLI shop in Bamburgh Village Beadnell is about an hours walk on the beach from Seahouses. The Northumberland coast line is amazing with some lovely places to see, Holy island is must. We also went on a boat trip to see the Farne Islands, you can do book this at Seahouses harbour, great trip of about 1hr 30mins and very informative. Would definitely recommend this cottage and would look and booking again in the future.

Mrs H,

Our second Christmas visit and this was as lovely as the first. The house was clean, comfortable and warm, the addition of the Christmas tree made it extra special. Thanks so much for the extras of the wine and chocolates that was a nice gesture. The house is ideally located for getting out by car and about and also for good coastal walks. We were extremely lucky with the weather for the time of year which made it all the better. Good parking on the drive. although situated within 200 yards or so of the start of the High Street it was so quiet, we could have been in the middle of nowhere! Excellent Indian restaurant - The Spice House, and the fish and chip shop Lewis's. Thanks for our wonderful stay.

Mrs T,

Great house in a superb area very comfortable with great amenities.. would recommend & will return next year.

Mr S,

Everything was absolutely perfect. Clean, comfortable, spacious, finished to a high standard and very well equipped. Appliances and heating set and ready to use. Little extras such as welcome pack with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits are really lovely. Good off-road parking! Close to amenities and wonderful beaches. A peaceful and welcoming home from home.

Mr G,

The cottage was one of the best we've ever stayed in. Great location, clean and inviting with little touches left like toiletries, tea, coffee, milk along with other bits. We loved our stay here and often come to Northumberland for a holiday so we would certainly look to come back to this cottage

Mrs H,

This cottage is very clean, comfortable, conveniently located and well presented. The garden was very nice for sitting out unfortunately our weather was a little inclement.

A really lovely place to stay. Location is perfect for Seahouses and the surrounding attractions. Very clean and welcoming, I could happily live here. Plenty of room for 2 guests, everything you need was on hand.

Miss W,

A lovely cottage in a great position near the town centre of Seahouses. Had everything we needed for our week’s stay. Has a lovely garden that will be a great bonus in the summer months. Seahouses has a lot of facilities and is a perfect base to explore Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.

Mrs S,

Our first visit to Northumbria and what a pleasure it has been. Kingfisher's Rest was perfect for us, very comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The surprise addition of a Christmas tree and decorations was such a lovely touch, along with the welcome items and bottle of wine and chocolates was very much appreciated. The off-road parking was great. In a very convenient position for restaurants and everyday shopping, the Spice House was excellent. A good base for either walking or exploring from. We really hope to return. Thank you for everything.

Mrs T,

Our cottage was extremely clean and very well decorated. The bed was very comfortable with top quality bed linen and towels, with plenty of hot water. The lounge had a very comfortable settee and chairs and the kitchen was very well equipped. The cottage was extremely cosy and warm, with just a short stroll into the village it is ideally located.
