Description

A comfortable semi-detached home wrapped by a wooden deck and perched on the edge of a small lake in the village of Beadnell. This beachside hideaway is a great retreat for older families and groups of friends exploring the Northumbrian coastline. After lounging on the secluded decking with a morning coffee, saunter along to the horseshoe-shaped bay peppered with fisherman’s boats, 500 metres. Brave the bracing waters for a refreshing dip in the ocean, or for the water sports pros, gear up for a scuba diving or sailing session, 500 metres. Embrace the miles of dramatic coastline and follow a winding trail to the pretty town of Seahouses, 2 miles, then refuel at one of the many traditional pubs or cafes.

This bright property offers a large lounge area, clean interior touches, and an inviting outdoor space. Step through the arbor entranceway into the open plan lounge where you can sink into the plush sofas, pop on a movie, and bask in the warm glow of the wood burner. Prepare some nibbles and drinks in the compact kitchen, then dine alfresco on the decking. Head upstairs via the dog leg staircase to find the sleeping areas, consisting of an airy king-size room and a double room, both with a wall-mounted TV and ample storage. The family bathroom with a heated towel rail is located on the first floor.

Soak up the afternoon sun on the split-level decking area, the perfect place for bird-spotting and tea drinking.

Reviews

It would be helpful to have the parking bays painted. We were unable to park the last 2 nights, as the bays each side had large vehicles in them, and we couldn't get in. But appreciate that there was street parking available as well. We also believe that a security light by the gate would be helpful when coming back in the dark. Overall, it was a very nice cottage and we enjoyed our stay.

Mrs W,

Lovely setting on the lake, we saw herons and kingfishers. Cottage is small and compact but comfortable. Nice walks to beach and harbour and close to two good pubs. Enjoyed coastal walk to Seahouses and easy to travel to Bambrough.

Mr B,

The Little House on the Lake is a delightful property. It is a comfortable and well equipped place to stay. The decking outside makes an excellent place to sit when the weather is good. It well placed for touring Northumberland. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return on another occasion.

Mr B,

This is a lovely cottage, excellent spot beside the lake. It is ideal place for exploring surrounding areas and the coast of Northumberland. Cottage is of a high standard, clean and with all facilities required. Parking can be tight squeeze, but this depends on others within the bays.
