Reviews

Location superb.Recent refurbishment very good

Mr B,

Absolutely beautiful cottage and the location was breathtaking, well worth the 7 hour drive there,

Mr A,

We had a great stay in Cygnet Cottage, the cottage was very clean and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There was a lovely welcome tray with essentials to get us started on arrival. Great Wi-Fi which was a big help on the wet days, there was also lots of games, books and dvds to keep the family entertained. Location of the cottage was perfect for exploring the Northumberland coast and nestled in a lovely village with great pubs. Would happily stay here again.

Mrs C,

Perfect location and a well equipped and comfortable place to stay. The village is very picturesque and plenty of good places for dog walking. The Mason's Arms and Jackdaw restaurant were exceptional.

Mr B,

This is a good property in an excellent location. Neighbours were friendly and helpful. Parking not a problem, even though it is quite a popular spot with locals for the walks and river activities. Great access to pubs, restaurants and walks. Bed a little soft for our comfort. There is some road noise all night from a main road with the bedroom window open, but tolerable for most people.

Mr S,

Location

Warkworth

Warkworth is almost completely encircled by the River Coquet and is dominated by the splendid medieval castle. Half a mile upriver is the famous Hermitage, a rock-hewn retreat with a very poignant history; it is quite unique in England and can only be reached by a guided rowing boat. Being within walking distance of a superb stretch of sandy beach and having some of the loveliest river scenery in the county, it is not surprising that Warkworth is a popular holiday location.

Lovers of wildlife will enjoy glorious walks beside the river and castle grounds, listen to the occasional woodpecker, and catch a rare glimpse of a red squirrel, deer and otters if you are lucky enough. During the summer months rowing boats are available for hire and provide a relaxing pastime whilst enjoying the picturesque river scenery. Boats trips are available at Amble either for fishing trips or to cruise around Coquet Island, a bird reserve, home to a large colony of Roseate Terns. The market town of Alnwick is Alnwick 7 miles. Golf, fishing and horse riding available locally.
