Reviews

A lovely well equipped comfortabe cottage in a quiet and peaceful location with ideal car parking and enclosed garden.

Mr C,

A lovely cottage in a quiet location. A great base for exploring the fantastic coastline and other attractions.

Mrs F,

Nice cottage, very quite and remote location. Be prepaed to use your car for everything as nothingis within walking distance. Good parking.

Mr A,

Lovely comfortable cottage.A pair of oven gloves would be handy. The shower hose would be better with a smooth finish so it doesn't turn black. Our second time at the cottage and we love it.Good welcome pack

Mrs G,

Clean, fresh, beautifully maintained, a delightful cottage

Mrs H,

This is a very nice cottage in a row of five close to a farm. We liked the visits from the cattle to the back fence. The position is good and the cottage well equipped and comfortable. There is a small garden and ample parking. Warkworth and Amble are very close and Alnwick not far. Although dogs are allowed there was no sign that they had been there, which is important for us as we do not have dogs. Another good point about Northumberland is that we have never seen so many EV charging points and they all worked! In fact it was harder to find petrol.

Dr B,

Dove Cottage is a lovely place to stay. A well equipped cottage, it is exactly as seen in the photographs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Ms M,

A lovely cottage in a peaceful setting. An ideal location for visiting the many beaches nearby. Our dog loved it! We will be back, I'm sure!

Mrs F,

We really enjoyed our stay at Dove Cottage.

Mrs W,

Comfortable, well equipped cottage in ideal location for exploring this area. Impressed with Original Cottages prompt and friendly service

Mrs B,

Absolutely beautiful cottage, very well equipped with pretty much everything we needed. Great location close to Alnwick, Warkworth and Amble, all less than 10 mins drive away Loads of things to see and do close enough to the cottage without having to drive miles and miles Roads are deserted as are the nearby beaches!

Mr A,

Location

Warkworth

Warkworth is almost completely encircled by the River Coquet and is dominated by the splendid medieval castle. Half a mile upriver is the famous Hermitage, a rock-hewn retreat with a very poignant history; it is quite unique in England and can only be reached by a guided rowing boat. Being within walking distance of a superb stretch of sandy beach and having some of the loveliest river scenery in the county, it is not surprising that Warkworth is a popular holiday location.

Lovers of wildlife will enjoy glorious walks beside the river and castle grounds, listen to the occasional woodpecker, and catch a rare glimpse of a red squirrel, deer and otters if you are lucky enough. During the summer months rowing boats are available for hire and provide a relaxing pastime whilst enjoying the picturesque river scenery. Boats trips are available at Amble either for fishing trips or to cruise around Coquet Island, a bird reserve, home to a large colony of Roseate Terns. The market town of Alnwick is Alnwick 7 miles. Golf, fishing and horse riding available locally.
