Description

Nestled in the quiet hamlet of Low Hauxley, a stone's throw from an often deserted beach, Beach View Cottage is the perfect bolt hole for a seaside holiday or a romantic break. Both the lounge and the conservatory have access to the pretty enclosed garden with a feature fishing boat. The views from the bedroom windows, across the beach and out to sea, are stunning. The cottage oozes charm and character with a large stone inglenook fireplace the main feature of the lounge. Located only a minute's walk from the beach, children will have endless fun building sand castles or searching through the rock pools when the tide is out. The fishing port of Amble, nicknamed the friendliest port, lies on the River Coquet Estuary at the southern end of the Northumberland coast. It is a short drive and has a good range of shops, pubs and cafes and hosts the only UK Puffin festival, inspired by the 36,000 Puffin colony residing on nearby Coquet Island. You can watch the birds whilst on a Puffin Cruise sailing from the harbour. Water sports including sailing, kayaking and power boating as well as golf, walking and mountain biking are available locally.

Reviews

Perfect cottage in a perfect location. Walk a 100yard and you are on a sandy beach, dogs loved it. You can see the sea from the 2 comfortable bedrooms. The cottage looks small from the outside but is very spacious and well thought out. The kitchen is fitted with top end fittings ,so it's a pleasure to have to work in it,everything is provided. Would highly recommend.

Mrs W,

Spacious, well equipped and comfortable cottage only seconds from a mainly deserted beach. Couldn’t ask for more.

Mr R,

The cottage is in a fantastic, quiet location on the coastal path, only a few metres from the lovely sandy beach. The cottage itself is fantastic, spotlessly clean and a real home from home with everything you need and has great sea views from upstairs. The location is ideal for exploring local places of interest and Amble is not too far away for groceries, even though we did get a food delivery on the evening that we arrived. Had such a fantastic stay that we booked again for next year whilst we were still there. Would not hesitate to recommend Beach View Cottage to family and friends. Tara, Andy & Smithy

Miss S,

I appreciated the welcome bottle of fizz- a great surprise. Thank you ! The cottage was very clean, well organised, homely, the kitchen well equipped. The information thorough and communication clear from booking.

Ms R,

The house is charming and delightful and bigger than it appears. The location is great. Right by the beach which was deserted most days and great for dogs however be mindful that there is a slope down to the beach which can be awkward due to its nature. However there is a rope which was great and made the access easier and safer. The front garden although enclosed is right on a path with lots of passerbys and the gate is a bit stiff and a little low. It isn’t a problem if you don’t have a Houdini dog ! The bedrooms are accessed by stairs that are not steep and are a great size. Beds and shower are good. Kitchen well stocked and has everything you need. The local supermarket is a few minutes drive away but I booked a delivery which was very handy. It is easy to get out and about to places as Amble is a short drive away. I was very impressed with the cottage and the communication we received prior to our holiday and would definitely return and recommend.

Mrs M,

Just wonderful. Peaceful, comfortable, amazing location. 30 seconds walk to the very quiet beach. Lovely situated in a small hamlet I would say. The garden is lovely to sit out in. The beds are comfortable and showers powerful. We have said it before about cottages but we will definitely return. Great base to explore, especially castles and beaches. Very dog friendly too. Thank you for letting this well maintained cottage

Mrs M,

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beach View Cottage. It was our first time staying near Amble, having previously spent many holidays slightly further up the coast, and it didn't disappoint. The walk into Amble along the beach and coastal path is really lovely and Amble itself is has plenty to offer in the way of cafes, restaurants and shops. The cottage is very cosy and has a lovely home-from-home feel. We felt our holiday was excellent value for money as the cottage was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. Low Hauxley is a peaceful little village and the beach, although not as stunning as some of the beaches in Northumberland, is very quiet and just a few yards from the cottage - just perfect for our two cockapoos! We will definitely be back.

Mrs D,

Probably the nicest holiday rental we have stayed in. The location could not be better - our dog loved being a couple of minutes from the beach as much as we did. The house is spacious and very well equipped, comfortable sofas, comfortable beds and lovely old chests and cupboards which adds to this old house's character. Like many old houses this one has many nooks and crannies, intriguing apothecary's drawers, and well-stocked bookcases. It it is spotless where it needs to be - the kitchen, the bathroom, the living areas etc and well provided with all mod cons - showers, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and separate freezer and so on. We can't wait to visit again and booked our next stay the day we arrived home. We've never done that before!

Mrs S,

The cottage on the whole is very well appointed and the location super.

Mrs H,

We love this cottage and will be returning.

Mrs H,

We were so looking forward to coming here and we weren't disappointed. The cottage and its situation so close to the beach was heaven for our dogs ! Facilities were good and the bed and all the furniture was really comfortable. Not surprised it's fully booked all year. Really enjoyed our week.

Mrs Q,

Stayed here before, lovely location. Limited parking. Well equipped cottage, very warm and cozy. Sun room ideal to chill and read watching the world go by.. Hope to return next year. Our 2 dogs loved the beach . Plenty to do locally. Stayed for a second week. Hoping to return next year .

Previous Customer,

This is a very cosy, warm cottage in a lovely location. Our two dogs loved their morning walks on the nearby beach. Comfortable beds and lovely big towels were provided. The cottage is in a great location for visiting local beaches, castles etc. it could do with a little ‘TLC’ in parts, particularly the kitchen but otherwise, recommended.

Mrs R,

The most beautiful house with so many original pieces of furniture. Very comfortable and warm , even tho we had Storm Gerrit hit us for 24 hours - had a short power cut but found the candles which are left in the kitchen dresser . The close proximity to both the beach , Amble and Nature Reserves is a big bonus too . Would certainly return to Beach View .

Mr W,

The cottage was very well equipped, comfortable and in a great location. No complaints at all.

Mrs P,

Another return trip to this wonderful place. The weather has been very kind with sunshine. Considering the dreadful April and March we had before this week. Already booked for next May.

Previous Customer,

We love this cottage and it's location. The beaches are lovely. Visited Amble, Craster, Duridge Bay, Low Hauxley Wildlife Trust, Belsay Hall and Castle. Embelton Beach, Dunstanburgh.

Previous Customer,

Many years spent around the coast, mainly Bamburgh area, but really prefer this location and lovely cottage. Booked for next May, can't wait!!!

Previous Customer,

Amazing spot- very well-equipped cottage, with my son down in Ellington pub is perfect. We will be back.

Previous Customer,

Living so far away from the coast, it is such a treat to stay here with the beach as our extended back garden. Our first visit 5 months ago gave us a taste of this beautiful coastline and a desire to return to explore furthur. Senna our labrador was desperate to get to the beach as soon as we arrived and has had the time of her life finding rabbit carcasses in the dunes, obviously ignoring our cries to "leave it". Walking along the frosty beach -2 degrees early morning was beautiful and a first to see the frosty sand and seaweed. A lovely time of year to visit and hopefully we will be back soon.

Previous Customer,

A lovely relaxing break in a beautiful cottage in our favourite location. Thank you- we will be back!
