The market town of Rothbury is just over 2 miles away while Cragside, the National Trust's hydroelectricity and hydraulics-powered stately home, is 1 mile away.
Take three steps down into the property where you’ll find a lounge/diner, kitchen and bedroom all on one level. Relax in the country-style lounge with an original stone fireplace with a multi-fuel stove and a TV. The dining area offers a cosy space with hillside views while the spacious kitchen is the perfect place to pack a picnic for a day’s outing. There is also a small dining table in the kitchen so you can keep the chef of the group company while they cook. At the end of a day of activity, retire to the comfortable double bedroom with warm, inviting décor and ample storage. Location
Great Tosson is 2 miles from the market town of Rothbury. The town of Rothbury lies along the banks of the River Coquet where you will find some picturesque walks. There are many shops and craft shops selling locally produced food and gifts as well as cafes, restaurants and cafes. On the outskirts of the town is the National Trust property of Cragside is a pioneering stately home is filled with Victorian gadgets including electric lights powered by hydro electricity. It was the first house in the world to use this technology, created by inventor and arms manufacturer Lord William Armstrong and his wife.
The Northumberland National Park is a short drive where visitors can enjoy many walks, trails and cycle routes or for the more experienced hikers the Cheviot Hills are also nearby.
