Description

This beautifully appointed and charming holiday cottage is located close to the centre of the New Forest National Park village of Burley, with easy access to its welcoming shops, cafes, and pubs. The village is known for its mystical past and was once home to the white witch Sybil Leek – you can learn all about this in the ‘witchy’ shops dotted around you. For the more adventurous, hire a bike to explore the trails that originate in Burley. Local attractions in this lovely area of the South Coast are the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu (14.5 miles), Buckler’s Hard (15 miles), and Kingston Great Common (3 miles). Surrounded by greenery, this property provides the perfect backdrop for holidays as a couple or small family with the dogs in tow.

On arrival to the property, you will encounter a welcoming hallway that leads through to a spacious lounge. The lounge contains ample comfortable seating for you and your fellow guests, there is also a crackling wood burner and a Smart TV with a DVD/Blu-ray player – the perfect ingredients for a movie night together. This is a cosy place to unwind and socialise with each other after a long day of touring the New Forest. Adjacent to the lounge is a fully equipped kitchen/diner with generously sized worktops, Smeg appliances and space to dine in comfort. Heading back to the hallway, you will find a boot room with a washing machine and dryer, there is also a sink for cleaning muddy boots after long forest walks. Nearby is a separate WC. The first floor is accessible from the hallway up a staircase, where you will find two restful bedrooms with TVs and garden views. Both contain super-king-size beds with zip-and-link beds that can be made into twins on request. Both bedrooms have an en-suite, one has a shower room with a WC, the other has a bath, shower cubicle, and WC. There is also a put-up bed for one small child available on request (approx. 6ft).

Stepping outside, via the kitchen you will find the garden with lawned areas and patios to the front and rear of the property. Relax on the garden furniture or spark up the charcoal BBQ to grill up some treats when the weather is fine.

Reviews

The property was so clean throughout and the bathrooms in particular were a real pleasure to use. The kitchen also merits a mention - the standard of equipment was very good and it was clear that a great deal of thought had gone into the provision of it.

Mr C,

Beautiful cottage. Spotlessly clean.

Mr F,

A wonderful cottage equipped with all the creature comforts! Extra touches such as local produce and milk in the fridge were really appreciated. It worked really well with my dog too - very secure garden and a great boot room to sort out muddy wellies and muddy paws before entering the lounge.

Mrs R,

For a holiday in the new forest and surrounding South Coast this holiday property is ideal. Very well appointed in all aspects.

Mr R,

Great cottage in a wonderful location. Very clean and welcoming with comfy beds and en-suite facilities for both bedrooms. Loved it and hope to visit again.

Mrs P,

The cottage was well equipped in a beautiful area, lovely secure garden for dogs. Beds were exceptionally comfortable so had the best sleep!

Ms A,

Bumble Bee Cottage was the cleanest holiday property we've ever stayed in! Everywhere appeared to be quite relatively newly renovated, including furnishings and kitchen equipment etc - although I suspect it had been a few years and this property was in fact just super-well maintained, which we greatly appreciated. Also the fully secured garden front and back was fantastic, so we had a worry-free week with our 2 Greyhounds in the gardens. We had a great stay and highly recommend this accommodation set in a beautiful location.

Mrs B,

Very comfortable well equipped cottage in lovely location. Village shop and local pub in walking distance of the cottage.

Mrs F,

Bumble Bee Cottage is in a perfect location. Situated in a quiet lane in the centre of Burley, it is perfect for exploring the village and the New Forest. There is plenty of choice for eating out. The New Forest ponies are a great attraction when they wander through the village and beyond. The cottage itself is very comfortable with two en suite bathrooms / shower rooms. The front and back gardens are enclosed. The back garden has a very high boundary all around so no escape routes for dogs!

Mrs W,

This is a superb cottage. Absolutely recommendable.
