Description
Relax in this traditional village cottage overlooking Westleton green and enjoy the best of the coast and countryside near this welcoming village, with its grocery store, tea room, second hand bookshop and two pubs. Situated close by Westleton Heath, Minsmere and the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are walks from the front door in every direction. It is 2 miles from Dunwich, with its huge beach with access to the Suffolk Coast Path. Aldeburgh, Snape, Saxmundham and Southwold are all within easy reach too. The cottage sleeps three guests in two bedrooms: up the narrow cottage stairs, with a fine view of the village green is a king-sized bedroom and a bathroom. On the ground floor, opposite a shower room/wc is a single bedroom, particularly handy for anyone with mobility issues. Canine visitors are also welcome and the rear garden is fully enclosed.
Make your way inside via the main door to the side of the cottage. Here you will find plenty of space to deposit coats and outdoor shoes. You then enter the extended, bright and roomy kitchen/dining area with underfloor heating in colder months. Put the kettle on, open the French doors on to the garden and enjoy preparing meals in this well-equipped space. The sitting room, facing due south, is an inviting space, where you can relax on the comfortable seating and enjoy looking out on the village green. Lay an open fire during the autumn and winter months and choose a game or book from the shelves or watch tv. Also downstairs is a neat little bedroom with a (4ft) single bed, opposite the downstairs toilet and walk-in shower. Climb the steep, cottage-style stairs up to the first floor to a king-size bedroom and bathroom, with underfloor heating. Soak up the sunshine out in the terraced cottage garden as often as the weather permits, keeping an eye on children and pets because of the different levels. You can also take your morning coffee out into the front garden to sit on the bench to watch the world go by. Parking is curbside on the lane directly outside.
There are many other delightful villages and towns nearby, or drive 9 miles for a day out in colourful Southwold. Here you can spend time on the sandy beach, browse in the shops, visit the theatre and Electric Picture Palace, dine out or enjoy fish and chips and a wander along its famous pier.

Westleton is a pretty village midway between Aldeburgh and Southwold, with the coast at Dunwich only two and a half miles away. Centred around a large green, Westleton is one of the most popular places to stay on the Heritage Coast. It is an ideal base for walking, bird watching, cycling and closely located to Minsmere, as well as the coastal heaths and forests. There are two good pubs, a second-hand book shop and a well-stocked village store/post office - all in the village centre. Much of the area around the village is accessible open heath or mixed woodland, ideal for walkers and there is a new, lottery funded playground.
