Description

This stylish, former fisherman’s cottage is perfect for a holiday close to the seaside. Rye is a delightful market town that offers plenty of activities for couples and families. The town has a wealth of independent shops and a fine selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs, all within 500 metres of the cottage. Camber Sands is just 3 miles away and is perfect for families.

With its gentle shelving sandy beach as well as a variety of water sports including windsurfing and kitesurfing, it makes for a great day out. Why not take a trip to Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and enjoy a bike ride along the coast to Winchelsea Beach (3.3 miles)? Or nearby is the town of Hastings (10 miles), which is home to the country’s oldest funicular railway and a host of family activities. The front door of this beautiful property opens into the hallway where there is space for dropping off coats and shoes before heading into the comfortably furnished lounge/diner that features a sofa, armchair and a window seat arranged around a wood burner and Smart TV. A large dining table with seating for all offers the perfect place for relaxed family meals. An archway from the dining area leads through into the well-equipped kitchen that has everything you will need for whipping up a delicious meal including a range-style oven with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, DeLonghi espresso coffee machine and microwave. Beyond the kitchen is a utility area with a washing machine and a separate cloakroom with WC. Heading up to the first floor, there are two bedrooms: a king-size and a twin. The property is completed with a beautiful bathroom that features a stunning roll top copper bath (just perfect for a long hot soak), a walk-in shower and a WC.

Outside at the rear of the cottage, you'll discover a small patio that is a wonderful sun trap that offers comfortable seating which can be enjoyed throughout the day. The front of the cottage is just 20 metres from the river with views of the quay and boats. There is private parking at the front of the property for one car. Further on street parking available (subject to availability).

The cottage location was excellent. There is a very good Italian restaurant just over the road from cottage. We received a very nice welcome pack on our arrival which included a baguette, bottle of wine and biscuits qhich was a nice surprise. I loved the look and layout of the lounge/dining room with modern features and there was a lot of DVD's to choose from if you like to watch a movie. Kitchen was very spacious and had everything you need. Bathroom was very good size with great shower. bath and complimentary toiletries. Double bedroom was very spacious with nice comfy bed, nice pillows and duvet. Bonus having an outdoor patio with four chairs to sit on. Very dog friendly as lots of blankets were provided.

Stayed with friend and our 2 dogs for week starting 16th August. Owners had gone out of their way to make us feel welcome, leaving a hamper with wine and goods for us and treats for the dogs. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you needed for your stay. They put milk in the fridge and there was coffee/tea for us to use. Nothing seemed too much trouble to make our stay enjoyable. Ideally situated for touring the south coast. Whilst Rye itself is an interesting place to walk round. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

This cottage is in an ideal location for exploring Rye and the surrounding areas. The cottage is beautifully furnished and has everything you need for a lovely stay. The owner made us feel really welcome. On arrival we had some Christmas extras which was really thoughtful. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom spacious with a large roll top bath and the kitchen just had everything that you would need. The detail and extras in this cottage was really appreciated. A lot of thought has gone into the presentation of the house especially for dog owners with the provision of dog towels, water and food bowl and even poo bags ! The parking space in front of the house is a huge bonus as parking in Rye particularly at the weekend can be tricky . Would not hesitate to recommend .

Lovely, homely cottage in a great position just across the road from the centre of beautiful Rye. On-site parking was a godsend and the large grass area at the front was ideal for our dog! The owner was very helpful and easy to contact before and during our stay. She had thought of everything we may need (or forgot to bring) even doggy treats and poop bags for Winnie!
