Reviews

Lovely two night stay in a central location to Rye that made everything in the town very accessible. Cosy downstairs tv room that made cold evenings with the family completely enjoyable.

Mrs U,

Really good property in the heart of town.

Mrs W,

The cottage was lovely but needs a bit of TLC. The bath was chipped. The cooker door has no handle and the bed wasn't too comfortable possibly due to the uneven floors. One of the stair rails had also come loose making it a little unsafe on the staird

Mrs E,

The cottage is well kept, quirky, good art and useful info. We were warned about the stairs. I developed a hip problem before the holiday…after booking….and it was not easy. Steep outside step, and a challenging staircase to the lounge with tv and to the bathroom and bedroom. If you are younger and mobile, would be less difficult, just a quirky cottage in an excellent location. The welcome pack in info excellent.

Ms W,

Cottage was in a great location, had a historic charm, and had lots of nice decoration and artwork. However it was let down by several issues: 1) poor maintenance - appliances, hooks, beds, cupboards etc needed a lot of updating; 2) not being cleaned thoroughly - lots of spiders and cobwebs, dusty skirting boards etc; 3) very poor water pressure to the point that the shower was useless and we resorted to baths. We ended up leaving 3 days early on Wednesday.

Mr M,

It was a great place to stay, very adorable cottage. We did not expect it to be so central. The instructions were clear. Upon arrival, we found lots of recommendation on local areas etc. We would definitely book it again.

Miss U,

The property is beautiful and in a superb location. It has loads of character and period features, although can be quite tricky to move around in due to the first floor stairs!

Mr S,

Lovely period cottage in a perfect location, thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Rye and the cottage was the perfect base to explore the town as well as the local area

Mr P,

This is a delightful, quirky, Grade 2 listed cottage with charming interior decor. The front is so attractive, with its display of geraniums, that we saw other visitors taking photos of it. The pretty garden is small, but definitely big enough, and a sun trap in the afternoon. There is a good supply of cookware and an eclectic mix of plates, glasses and cutlery, as well as the usual kitchen appliances in the tiny but more than adequate kitchen. The cottage is close to all amenities - shops, pubs, restaurants, etc. - but off the main drag, so quiet at night. This is a lovely cottage in the charming town of Rye and we loved our time there.

Mrs G,

Excellent property extremely comfy and superbly situated. Would highly recommend!

Mrs W,

Had a wonderful stay at Providence Cottage. It is much nicer than the photos suggest.Loved all the interior design and the original artwork on the walls. The bed was really comfortable and the location superb for enjoying all Rye has to offer. The stairs are a challenge but we knew that before we booked.Plenty of information provided of place of interest to visit. We dined at Hoof,Simply Italian and thought The Waterworks micro pub was outstanding!

Mr B,

Lovely quaint cottage in the centre of Rye with all the old charm and features you expect from a property if its age. We found it comfortable for 2 adults and a dog.

Mrs W,

Providence Cottage is beautifully presented, comfortable, characterful and extremely well situated. Our hosts made extraordinary efforts to make us feel welcome and at home. We stayed over Christmas, so didn’t use the garden but felt that this would make a lovely retreat in the summer. The information pack was very helpful.

Ms K,

Great location for a cottage with plenty of character including a super downstairs snug.
