Medieval festivals, jousting tournaments, history weekends, open air theatre and plant fairs take place throughout the year.  The river Arun, which gives the town its name, flows through Arundel and can be used for kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddle boarding or simply follow the walking trail along the river to Amberley Castle, located in the picturesque village of Amberley at the foot of the South Downs. Arundel wetland centre is a great place to visit and discover the wonder of wetlands and get closer to nature. Leave the car behind and jump on a train from central London, Arundel station is only 450 metres from the high street.

Reviews

Beautiful character property in the centre of Arundel. The interior is the most superior we have stayed in. Quirky, quality and luxurious.

Ms H,

This cottage is beautiful, so tasteful updated . There is everything you need to make your stay comfortable and relaxing . We would definitely stay again hopefully very soon . We were given clear instructions before our visit so when we arrived we knew exactly what to do . The house was nice and warm and cosy so we soon felt at home . The house is right in the centre of Arundel which was really convenient for cafes and restaurants and shops !!! We even had an antique fayre in the square on the Sunday which was fun

Mrs K,

Longmace house is a beautiful property which kept the old features and combined it with modern touches. It is bang in the middle of Arundel so was a great base to explore the town and its surrounding areas. The property was very spacious and well equipped, perfect for a family getaway or even a gathering with friends. We also luckily stayed during a weekend where the farmers market was held and it was a real treat. Although no allocated parking, I wouldn’t worry about it, plenty of car parks and on street parking, there is also free parking on mill road if you get lucky with a space. We had a restful and enjoyable stay, plenty of walks for the dog too. We highly recommend this place and Paul was very informative prior to our arrival which was a bonus.

Mr A,

Stayed here as part of a family of 6 between Christmas and New Year. The location, right in the centre of Arundel, was fantastic and parking although not on site is a 2 min walk away. Loading / unloading luggage is very easy as cars can be stopped outside and opposite the property very easily for short periods of time. Property itself is wonderfully equipped, very cosy but with plenty of eating and relaxing space for 6 adults.

Mr C,

The property is perfect to accommodate 3 couples, each with their own bathroom/shower, and was very clean and comfortable. It is very well appointed with plenty of space and a lovely homely feel which made it a pleasure to stay in. The location makes it a great base to explore the area and Arundel itself is a beautiful town with plenty of attractive pubs and restaurants. We had a fantastic weekend and would love to come back.

Mr H,

Love this house “, fabulous bathrooms, lovely accommodation & comfy beds. Would definitely return. Ideally situated in Arundel.

Mrs L,

Longmace House is on the perfect location in Arundel. It is a charming mix of old world furnishings and contemporary comfort.

Mrs H,

A beautiful maisonette, so clean and well equipped. Right opposite a great deli .

Mrs D,

This is a gem of a property. It is incredibly well located and luxuriously fitted out. Possibly the only caution to prospective guests is that the ceiling height in some of the rooms (because, no doubt, of the age of the property) is limited so that if guests are very tall there is the threat of a 'head and ceiling beam' collision. No doubt the price one pays for staying in such a ancient but splendid building.

Mr H,

A fantastic apartment with everything you need for a lovely holiday. A great position for exploring Arundel and surrounding areas Owner was an excellent host We had a great time

Mrs D,

We loved our stay at Longmace and had a great time. The cottage was restored to an extremely high level and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location was superb. Communication with the owner was really good and he answered any queries/questions promptly and helpfully. We would definitely return to this amazing place. From our perspective the only downside is that there is no outside space but that is made clear in the particulars and may only cause an issue in the summer. However, the location almost negates that. We also felt that due to the fact that this is a very old building, the structure is such that in two of the bathrooms you need to be a ninja to negotiate the space!

Mrs W,

Excellent location and facilities, a comfortable home from home.

Mr H,

Lovely comfortable property in a very good location. Arundel is well situated for an enjoyable holiday. Lots to visit and see in the area.

Miss V W,

A wonderful house in a perfect location. Thanks for being a wonderful host. Look forward to our next visit!
