Reviews

Just got home from a 5 night stay with 6 adults to celebrate an 18th birthday and we’re gutted to be back! We had a fabulous holiday here, they have thought of every detail to make your trip stress free & enjoyable. The house was super clean, really warm & cosy. The owners was super helpful over text message and in person and always on hand if needed. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you!

Miss J,

Peaceful isolated farm land location with stunning views and spacious accommodation. I took elderly parents, two teens, myself and a dachshund who had a fabulous time getting back to nature. Starlit evenings, hot tub gins and a sense of calm made for a wonderful family break. The comfy beds and bed linen were of superior quality and hot water and heating were excellent. The downstairs wet room and games room were a hit with teens. Two lovely lounges and a piano which was a bonus. The super large kitchen was where we spent most of our time when indoors eating, painting and discussing the history in the those 1664 beams! The family who own Maerdy Uchaf are very friendly and even drove us up to the highest point in the pick up which was a real treat for my parents who can no longer climb. All in all we loved our stay and would encourage, those who are able, to walk those hills and absorb the superb surroundings with cows, sheep, pheasants and birds and a farmer on his quad bike

Mrs I,

A really comfortable cottage in a lovely quiet location, the hot tub was a particular hit!

Mr S,

What a wonderful property, in the most idylic location. The hot tub was a big hit too. The hosts were very friendly and on hand if needed, we would definitely love to return.

Mrs M,

The cottage was absolutely gorgeous, very remote so you aren’t disturbing anyone/aren’t being disturbed. The beds were so comfortable as well! Loved our stay here

Miss T,

Cottage was absolutely lovely. It is a very private location so you will be undisturbed. It was a great experience being in the middle of farm land but also days out to Ruthin and Llangollen. Host (and family) were lovely.

Ms H,

Absolutely fantastic week away. Ideal location, very quiet , no light pollution so perfect for star gazing. Brilliant hosts, nothing was too much trouble and the welcome food package was a lovely touch. Would live to go back sometime.

Mrs T,

Gorgeous quirky property for a chilled weekend, great walks on the door step, hot tub was an added bonus and owners very friendly

Miss G,

We enjoyed a 4 night stay over new year, 2 families with 4 children between us. We all enjoyed the hot tub and the space inside the house was great for us all, never felt like we were overcrowded. Very comfy beds and the hosts were really helpful. Amazing views and so quiet. We would return.

Miss C,

The hosts at Maerdy Uchaf were extremely welcoming and helpful. The location in extremely rural, with the property being on a working farm. This provides the perfect opportunity for exploring the surrounding area. The cottage was as you would expect for a period property with a number of quirky features. It was well laid out, decorated and maintained. The kitchen was well equipped, something I am always grateful for in self-catering accomodations. Couldn't have asked for anything more, would definitely book again when looking for somewhere with a slightly bigger group.

Mrs M,

Amazing location, beautiful cottage, fabulous hot tub and lovely owners. To be honest I didn't want to leave, so peaceful and beautiful, the owner is very friendly and helpful. I wish I could have stayed longer

Miss F,

A very homely and well equipped cottage. The beds were very comfy (honestly, so many places say the beds are good but these really are!). The hosts were very nice people who made sure we had everything we needed and were also good for the craic!

Mr W,

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. It's immaculate, very comfortable beds, lovely views, great walks on your doorstep and the peace is lovely. Great location to visit lots of lovely areas, wonderful hosts. Couldn't have asked for more, loved it.

Mrs P,

Everything was perfect. The hosts were so helpful and wonderful too. I absolutely loved it. Beautiful gardens, really comfy bed and great facilities! Would definitely come back to this place! Couldn't ask for better. Thankyou so much
