Description

If you need to escape the hustle and bustle of life to simply get away from it all, then Hafod y Llwynog is the place to go. Set in the calm and picturesque countryside of Ceredigion, not far from Cardigan Bay, this traditional, stone-built, semi-detached cottage has it all. Take in the stunning scenery and breathe in the fresh country air, take a siesta in the hammock, or soak amongst the bubbles of the outdoor hot tub. There is also a chimenea where you can get cozy together and enjoy toasting marshmallows, or head to the lake for a romantic walk whilst watching the sun set over Cardigan Bay and admire the fabulous views up to Llŷn Peninsula and Bardsey Island - a perfect way to spend the evening. Hafod y Llwynog has been lovingly decorated and is a superb place for a family holiday with plenty of space inside for some lovely quality time together, and the large play area outside will keep the children entertained for hours. For the adults (16+) to have a break, a short distanced walk from the cottage (around 200 meters) you'll find yourself in a beautifully landscaped area of around one acre with two ponds and a little woodland providing a wonderful place for an evening walk or a quiet spot for meditation or yoga. Making new memories with loved ones is what Hafod y Llwynog is all about, and there are plenty of ways to make those wonderful memories at this beautiful and charming cottage.

Situated deep in the Ceredigion countryside, you can guarantee you'll get a peaceful holiday here but there also plenty of great places to visit nearby. A 20 minutes' drive towards the coast will get you to the pretty Georgian town of Aberaeron, full of colour, fantastic eateries, some of which have views of the harbour, and lovely independent shops. It's a place where you can relax and enjoy delicious food or an ice cream, take a walk along the Wales Coast Path whilst admiring the glistening sea, or get on a boat and spot some friendly bottlenose dolphins. Head inland, around the same distance in the other direction from Hafod y Llwynog, and you'll come to the historic market town of Tregaron which is a gateway to the Cambrian Mountains. All amenities are available here too, and instead of a walk along the coast, you can take a walk along parts of the River Brennig which flows right through the town. A visit to the Tregaron Red Kite Centre and Museum is a must, and if you'd like to see the Red Kites, head up to Cors Caron Nature Reserve. Other great places to visit that the whole family will enjoy include Llanerchaeron, near Aberaeron - a magnificent Georgian Villa with a walled garden, a farmyard and wildlife to spot, Fantasy Farm Park near Llanrhystud or you can visit beaches such as the one in Llanrhystud, Llanon or New Quay to name just a few that are situated along the beautiful Cardigan Bay. Hafod y Llwynog's location will certainly suit everyone, either in Summer or Winter.

Reviews

Excellent accomodation, perfect getaway.

Mr P,

The cottage is well placed for visiting along the west coast and in a quiet location. The owners were quick to respond to enquiries we had and were very helpful.

Mr J,

A charming cottage, in a rural location. The hot tub was wonderfull.

Mr A,

This cottage was very comfortable and had all you need for your holidays. The bonus Hot Tub was great. Unfortunately there are no shops nearby, closest shop at a small garage 2 miles away which closed at 6pm. No restaurants close to the property, you must be prepared to drive a lot. More suitable for those who enjoy walking as lovely lake and woodland area at cottage. Not for partially disabled.

Mrs A,

Amazing cottage in a beautiful setting, obviously put together with the care and comfort of guests in mind. Lilly the dog did her best to make us feel welcome and succeeded. As the cottage is so remote an optional grocery package of bread, milk and a few basics to see people through the first few hours might be welcome.

Mrs M,

Cottage I very spacious and has everything you need for a stress free break and the hot tub was amazing , owners were welcoming and friendly and will definitely return

Mrs E,

Hafod Y Llwynog is set in a courtyard with a beautiful view of the countryside. It's in a very quiet, rural area and is a tastefully decorated, immaculately clean and well equipped cottage with really comfortable beds. The very obliging owners are close by to help with any enquiries. We enjoyed a wonderful week there exploring Aberystwyth, Aberaeron and Cardigan area. The hot tub was a huge hit. My son in law loved sitting in there into the evening and listening to the birds. Restaurants we would recommend are The Moody Cow, Llwyncelyn, Aberaeron and The Hive near the harbour in Aberaeron. Both wonderful.

Mrs W,

We really enjoyed our stay at Hafad y Llwynog it was exactly what we needed. Perfect for rest and relaxation. Stunning views and we enjoyed our walk around the lake most days. The cottage is really comfortable and cosy, the hot tub a real bonus. The owner Dan was available if needed. We would definitely like to return
