Description

Cefnhendre is a renovated farmhouse located along a quiet country lane in the heart of the beautiful Ceredigion countryside. It has some lovely original features such as a wooden beam in the spacious living/dining area, where you'll also find a miniature dresser, and beautiful stone walls but there's enough here to give it a modern feel too. You'll find a comfortable and inviting sofa in front of the log burner and a gorgeous wooden coffee table for you to relax in front of the TV with a cup of tea or coffee. The outside area boasts a private hot tub for you to soak in after a day of exploring the area and benches for you to sit on to enjoy the sunshine and the lovely countryside fresh air. Surrounded by open fields and the noiseless countryside, it's a perfect place to escape from your busy day to day life for a calm, relaxing break.

Central to the coast and the Cambrian Mountains, it's in a great spot for those families wanting to see a bit of everything in Ceredigion. Cardigan Bay is only 8 miles away where you'll be greeted by the pebbles of Llanrhystud Beach with sand making an appearance at low tide. It's a dog friendly beach all year around and with Cefnhendre accepting two pets, they too can join you on walks and have fun exploring this magical part of Wales with you. The Cambrian Mountains is full of walking trails where you'll come across spectacular waterfalls and stunning woodland and here you'll experience the darkest skies in Europe and be able to gaze at the breathtakingly clear sky full of stars and planets. Tregaron is only a few miles away where you'll find all amenities including food shops, bakery, cafes, pubs/restaurants and gift shops. Head to the route which takes you to the waterfalls. Aberaeron town. Aberporth, Tresarth beach & New Quay can all be done in a day. Aberystwyth is approx 50 mins away. Black covert (river,) great for dogs 20mins away. Bwlch want yr Arian - Red Kites is worth a visit. Dogs on a lead. Will definitely return, had a wonderful time. Our 2nd stay at this cottage. For us it is the perfect place. It is in a very peaceful location and It has everything we needed for our stay. Lots of great walks nearby for us and the dogs. Secure garden so we know the dogs are safe and a great hot tub to enjoy.

Miss C,

Just returned from an amazing week in this beautiful cottage. Spotlessly clean and had everything you could need. Fabulous location, beautiful views and surroundings and a lovely garden secure for our 2 Jack Russells. If you want peace and quiet, no neighbours and to enjoy the relaxation and bliss from everyday busy lives this is the cottage to be. The lovely owner had also left us milk, butter, bread, Welsh cakes and eggs which were a nice suprise. We will definitely return

Mrs A,

If you're looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy the beautiful, unspoilt countryside then this is for you. The cottage was a wonderful retreat, tucked away down a quiet lane, surrounded by acres of fields and far reaching views. The garden was secure for our 2 year old spaniel who would have loved nothing more than to have had the freedom of the Welsh countryside! The cottage was clean, comfortable and homely. The host, Mr Jolly, was a delight - not imposing but if you needed him he would be there in the blink of an eye. Loads of local brochures and maps to help you make the most of your stay. Board games and puzzles in lounge. Hot tub was great, especially on a clear night when you can star gaze with zero light pollution (turn the outside lights and hot tub light off at switch - you will be amazed!) We arranged for a Tesco food delivery on the day we arrived and were so glad we did as, although there was a well stocked Spar in Tregaron around 4 miles away, it was much easier and less hassle than trying to find all your favourite bits here and there. Newquay was our favourite beach day, about a half hour drive but worth it. Boat trips and dolphin watching - we saw dolphins whilst eating our fish and chips on the beach! Cors Caron was a nice 1.5 mile boardwalk around marshland/bogs - prettier than that sounds! We would definitely return to this property and would recommend it to anybody looking for a quiet escape away.

Mrs J,

Cottage is amazing. Quiet comfortable and a place to sit back and relax.

Mrs M,

Lovely clean well looked after cottage in the countryside offering peace and tranquillity. The Hot tub is a great bonus for relaxing at the end of a day of exploring. The owner is very helpful and on hand if required.

Mrs R,

We loved our stay at this property, from before we even arrived we felt looked after with a call from the host to give us directions and explain a few things about the property. The property had everything you needed and was very tidy and clean. The location was lovely and secluded and the hot tub was a real treat. The surrounding area offered lots of things to do and see. The sofa and beds in the property were all very comfortable and the bathrooms both offered easy access and usability to anyone. There wasn’t anything at all we could find fault with

Mrs N,

Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away from it all. Perfectly located and owner is the perfect host, so friendly and wants you to have a fantastic break. The property has everything you could need and more, makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive. The welcome package had everything you needed for a couple of days! Hot tub is a bonus and even had red kites flying over us. Secure garden for the dog meant that we didn't need to worry about her getting out so could really relax. Outdoor eating area was fantastic just to sit and listen to the birds and sheep, if you hear more than three cars pass in the day, its a busy day! Tregaron is a short drive away with Spar shop for the essentials, cafes, pubs, butchers and a farm shop which do fantastic breakfasts and meals throughout the day. Cors Caron is a beautiful nature reserve that makes for great walks at all levels. A wonderful property, we will definitely be going back.

Mr C,

We had a fabulous time here. The cottage was superb, the location was perfect. The hot tub was a bonus, and the garden was secure which was great for our two dogs to run around in. The welcome pack which included milk, eggs, butter, cheese, bread and welsh cakes, was very thoughtful. The owner of the property, Mr Jolly is a lovely man and was very helpful and informative if we needed anything. We would definitely holiday here again.

Mr T,

Well what a beautiful rare gem to have the pleasure of staying in, myself and my husband was both very happy with our stay at Cefnhendre it was so peaceful, quiet, clean and very well equipped. We took our 2 dogs with us and found many dog friendly walks to take them on, there is a draw full of handy leaflets about lots of different locations nearby to visit. Rob the owner was very friendly and show us around the holiday home there was also a very nice welcome pack waiting for us on arrival which we were very greatful for after a long journey. We really enjoyed evenings relaxing in the hot tub and was lucky to have a few clear nights to enjoy some stargazing with our telescope. We would very much like to come back again one day and have been recommending this lovely holiday home to our friends since returning home. Thank you

Mrs R,

Lovely quiet area with beautiful scenery. Look into walks and places to visit as there are plenty of hidden gems to be found. But also very relaxing if you want to get away from it all.

Mr C,

Absolutely fantastic, relaxing cottage. Hot tub and log burner made a big difference when the weather was bad. Can't fault in anyway and would highly recommend!!

Mrs H,

Great cottage, very homely feeling for our festive break. Peaceful and tranquil, great for sitting in the hot tub and watching out for red kites and listening for the owls calling. Very spacious for a family of 4 and one dog. Plenty of local walks from the doorstep with dogs or jut the family. We ventured out to many local attractions advertised in the leaflets found within the cottage. The cottage is well equipped with everything you possibly could need. The log burner was lovely to sit in front in the evenings and stocked well by the owner. The utility room is very helpful for dog owners when returning from muddy walks. The owner was lovely and gave us a tour and explained how everything worked upon our arrival. He also advised on local amenities that we may require and gave good local recommendations too. We can't wait to come back again and explore further.

Mr R,

Fabulous stay. Such a well equipped and cosy cottage. Great location, very family friendly and perfect for pooches too. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Would recommend to others and we would love to return one day. We really loved Wales.
