Description

Pengarth Cottage is a wonderful family friendly holiday home situated in an idyllic position on the Bwlchtocyn headland above Abersoch golf course that offers stunning sea views across Cardigan Bay that you won't be able to take your eyes off. Built in the late 1790s, the original part of the house has bags of character with thick stone walls and a cozy sitting room with vaulted ceiling and a wood burner. This delightful property manages to effectively keep all of its original features and even has fabulous church pew seating giving this characterful cottage a unique and charming feel. The spacious, modern kitchen has ample storage, perfect for a large group, and has full-width doors that opens right out to the well-presented patio and garden that has plenty of space for children to run around and play games. In the summer, the rear of the garden is a sheltered sun-trap and the perfect setting for lazy BBQs that can continue well into the evening. It's a lovely retreat for bringing the family together and in a beautiful, peaceful location.

Situated in the small village of Bwlchtocyn in Llŷn Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you're only a short drive away from the well-loved, picturesque seaside village of Abersoch, and in the other direction, the golden sands of Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth) beach, a 4 mile long beach which is a paradise for surfers. Abersoch has an abundance of shops, restaurants and trendy bars and has a fantastic atmosphere. The popular beach is a long stretch of sand backed by a long row of beach huts, where you can relax and enjoy the view or have a go at paddleboarding or coasteering. There are many other beaches nearby too such as Machroes Beach and Porth Ceiriad beach and many more to discover along the scenic coastline of this peninsula. Walk the Wales Coast Path and be blown away by the amazing scenery or take a drive through the countryside and the lovely villages where you'll receive a warm Welsh welcome. Nearby attractions include National Trust - Plas yn Rhiw and Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw Gallery in Llanbedrog, or for fun days out, visit the seaside town of Pwllheli where Funland Pwllheli will bring joy to younger children, or Glasfryn Parc near Y Ffôr which has many activities to suit everyone such as go-karting, ten pin bowling, soft play and crazy golf.

Reviews

A Fabulous location for those who appreciate the beautiful Welsh

Mrs S,

We were a group of two grand parents, two adults and a baby staying for a week in August. The cottage was very well equiped and very clean with plenty of space to relax in. The garden and grounds are beautiful with a lovely view down to the end of Abersoch beach in the distance and mountains beyond. Michael was very helpful when needed.

Dr B,

We enjoyed our holiday stay in this comfortable cottage near to Abersoch, the garden and views were a particular attraction. Our day trip to Portmerion was also a highlight of our stay.

Mr W,

Lovely location. Cottage was in fabulous location for views across bay & Di comfortable inside The owner was in touch with us and very informative

Mrs H,

My husband and I spent a delightful last week of October at Pengarth Cottage. We were more than happy with our choice. The location - up above Abersoch and close to the golf course - was ideal. The views from the master bedroom with en suite were unforgettable and changed with the changing weather. Here we were also in luck as the sun shone and the rain mostly kept at bay. The kitchen was spacious and very well equipped. Loved walking bare foot on the skate kitchen floor which was underfloor heated. The log burner fire in the comfortable lounge was used on a couple of evenings and we enjoyed the simple pleasure of watching the logs flame. The garden is beautiful but at this time of the year we were unable to take advantage of the sun loungers, bbq, and log burner. Another time at another season. The walk into Abersoch across the golf course was not different and saved having to take the car every time. Plenty to visit in the region. 5* recommendation.
