Description

Arthog Hall Farm is a substantial detached house in an elevated position in Arthog, overlooking the Mawddach Estuary, just 2 miles from the seaside town of Fairbourne and 7 miles west of Dolgellau. This former farmhouse is ideally situated for walking, cycling and touring the South Snowdonia National Park and coastline. The house has been in the same family for over 80 years, three generations, since it was built in the 1930s. It is a spacious house, retaining many attractive original features and some period furniture, sitting comfortably alongside contemporary bathrooms, WiFi and other mod cons. The property is in an ideal location, just 2 miles from the seaside town of Fairbourne with its long sweeping sandy beach and light railway and surrounded by Snowdonia National Park. So, whether you want mountain or coastline adventures, we have you covered. A perfect place to make some memories, where adults can unwind by the BBQ for al fresco dining, while the kids are entertained in the playroom, which offers fun extras like table football, TV, board games, and a pool table.

The house provides comfortable accommodation for families or groups of friends:

Entrance Hall: with lovely parquet flooring and wide staircase.

Sitting Room: with three sofas, large Freeview TV and DVD player and open fire.

Dining Room: for formal dining, with antique dining table and 8 chairs, sideboard, dresser and display cabinet.

Breakfast Room: for more informal meals, with original quarry tiled floor and cosy Rayburn with two armchairs, a dining table and 8 chairs.

Kitchen: with modern fitted units, large range cooker with electric ovens and gas hob, microwave and dishwasher. Adjacent is a Pantry with a separate tall fridge and freezer, as well as plenty of storage space. A washing machine and a pool table is located in the garage, also accessible direct from the kitchen.

Play Room/Snug: with desk, TV/DVD player, table football, two sofas and a cupboard full of toys and games.

Head upstairs, and you'll find six bedrooms, each with a picturesque view:

Bedroom 1: Spacious double bedroom with antique bedroom suite, desk and chair, and two tub chairs in the bay window, with lovely views.

Bedroom 2: The second double bedroom features an en suite shower room and offers plenty of storage space.

Bedrooms 3 & 4: Two spacious twin bedrooms, each equipped with a dressing table, wardrobe, and bedside cabinets. One of the bedrooms also features an en suite shower room and offers an attractive outlook.

Bedrooms 5 & 6: Two neat single bedrooms, both offering plenty of storage and a cosy atmosphere. One of the bedrooms features a door leading to a small balcony with lovely views.

Family Bathroom: with modern white suite, electric shower over the bath, WC and basin.

Cloakroom: separate WC and basin.

Outside: enclosed, mature hillside gardens surrounding the house, with brick built barbecue, picnic bench and other garden furniture; views over the Mawddach Estuary to the hills beyond.

Garage: space for storing bikes, walking gear etc, accessible from the driveway and the kitchen. Hosepipe for cleaning muddy dogs, bikes etc, washing machine and a small pool table.

Parking: Adjacent for up to 4 cars

Reviews

There were 10 of us. The house was perfect and bedrooms worked well with the 2 single rooms. Perfect for the dog too as nice big garden all enclosed. Lovely walks from the house, waterfalls etc. and the beach at Fairbourne was a 5 min drive where you can park nearby and as we were so lucky with the weather we spent most days on the beach.

Mrs H,

The house was clean and comfortable. The owner extremely pleasant. Most things that you would need were supplied.

Mrs L,

Excellent place to stay

Mr J,

Great place to stay with some good walks direct from the house, we liked the walk up past the waterfalls and over to the Cregannan Lakes. Also the walk over the bridge to Barmouth is well worth doing. The kids loved the table football in the games room and the pool table in the garage. We appreciated all the freezer/fridge space and the high standard of the utensils and pans in the kitchen. Nice bedrooms with super views.

Mr I,

The house was very warm and felt homely. We loved the open fire, the children’s toys, the Rayburn, the location. All four generations had a brilliant time.

Mrs D,

This property is great for large groups of all ages. The beds were very comfortable, the view is beautiful, the playroom is great for the children. The owners left us some bubbly and Welsh cakes on arrival which was a nice touch! We really enjoyed our stay.

Mrs M,

The house was warm, comfortable and well equipped. Positioned in a lovely part of the countryside with views over to the estuary and hills beyond. Especially liked that it had been decorated for our Christmas stay.

Mr S,

Very warm and cosy with beautiful views will return again in the near future.

Mr U,

The location of the property in terms of the scenery and outdoor recreation is second to none, Access to beaches, mountain walks, historic features and landscapes all enrich the experience of this beautiful place, Lovers of the countryside are spoilt for choice,

Ms L,

We had a lovely time at Arthog Hall. The facilities were good, the house was spacious. Well-connected to nearby towns by car.
