Description

Nestled high in the Elwy Valley, Conwy, this beautifully finished contemporary farmhouse, provides a peaceful retreat in the picturesque Welsh countryside. This inviting space has been curated with the family in mind and is perfect for loved ones of all ages to come together. When you’re not simply enjoying the paradise of its surroundings, travel 10 miles North or West to explore the beauty and adventure that is Snowdonia National Park or the glorious beaches of the North Wales coast. The traditional Welsh villages of Llangernyw and Llanfair Talhaiarn are just over 2 miles away where you have a local shop, a 4,000-year-old Yew Tree and fantastic country pubs cooking up quality homecooked food and great local ale! Explore the historic streets of Conwy (12 miles) or travel slightly further to the bustling seaside town of Llandudno with the longest pier in Wales and iconic Venue Cymru. Zip World Conwy (12.5 miles) has a range of indoor adrenaline activities or for a slower pace, wander the stunning National Trust – Bondant Garden (7.7 miles).

Stepping into the heart of the home where everyone will come together, the large open plan kitchen/ living area fills with natural light from the adjacent bifold doors, whilst the contemporary finishes blend perfectly with the timeless character of a traditional Welsh farmhouse. A feature wood burner creates a cosy nook in the corner of the room, perfect for those slow winter Sundays and the double AGA takes centre stage in the beautiful contemporary, fully equipped kitchen. To keep the little ones occupied inside, there is a separate games room just off the main living space complete with a small pool table, table tennis, games, jigsaws and bean bag chairs. A cosier sitting room can be found on the other end of the property perfect for relaxing after a days adventure. The property also benefits from a large utility room which includes a washing machine, microwave and a downstairs WC. The bespoke feature staircase takes you upstairs, protecting the young ones with safety gates at the top and bottom. To one side of the property, there is a super-king-size bedroom with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside where you can look forward to switching on the TV and enjoying a morning coffee. This bedroom also has the convenience of ample wardrobe space and a large, fresh en-suite with a free-standing bath, walk-in shower and WC. Moving along the corridor you will find both a twin and double bedroom, before arriving at the family suite; complete with a double bed and two singles. Each bedroom has ample storage options so you can truly make yourself at home. To complete the accomodation, there is a large family bathroom with a free-standing bath, separate walk-in shower and WC.'

The farmhouse is set near the top of the valley with mesmerising views over the Welsh countryside and farmer’s fields. The living area sliding doors open up to a large rear garden, with the outside space also wrapping around the side of the property. The children have their very own garden entertainment with a trampoline, mud kitchen and playhouse with chalkboard. Observe livestock slowly grazing in the surrounding fields as you start to wind down for the evening lighting the gas BBQ or pizza oven and dining al fresco on the patio. When the night draws, huddle around the firepit for late night conversations and to marvel at the incredible starry skies with minimal to no light pollution in the area.

Reviews

We had a great few days here! (Group of 3 families) The house was fantastic for kids and adults. Great location. Lovely welcome from the owner. Really nice welcome pack.

Mrs C,

My family and I had the most amazing stay at this beautiful cottage over Christmas. The house itself was stunning, combining cozy charm with modern comforts, making it the perfect holiday retreat. The surrounding area was equally breathtaking, offering picturesque views and a serene atmosphere that added to the magic of our stay. The host was exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their warm hospitality and thoughtful touches made our holiday truly special, and we deeply appreciated all they did for us. Highly recommended!

Mrs P,

The house has everything you could need, loved the kitchen area and the AGA was great for cooking. Lots of places to go if you need a quiet time away from the children. Unfortunately we went during storm Darragh so couldn't use the outside space, the views were great though. Can not wait to come back again, will try in the summer next time as it would be lovely to open the sliding doors and sit outside. Thanks to Ela, she was a great host.

Mr I,

We stayed in this amazing property for the weekend with family. What a perfect space for a large family with everything you would need. Was very comfortable and homely with stunning views. Would definitely stay again but for longer the next time.

Mrs B,

Fabulous holiday cottage, fantastic location on a working farm. I have booked same cottage again in November, and that in itself speaks volumes.

Dr S,

Fantastic place with great owners, loved our stay. In a quiet farm location with the cutest cows out back. Easy to access and relatively nearby great locations and small towns.

Mr B,

Beautiful house!! lots to do within a 30 minute drive. Helpful owners. Perfect base for exploring north wales.

Mrs C,

What a find. Our stay was faultless. From the moment you arrive and see the property and surrounding area you know you are going to have a great time. Our host was very accommodating and greeted us at the property. We stayed during July 2024 (6th - 13th). The pictures don't do it justice. There was 7 adults and a 1 year old but enough room for more. All the furnishings and equipment were of a high standard and well maintained. We will be returning as it is a good base to explore North Wales. Thanks for a lovely time.
