Description

Brooklands Cottage is a traditional Gower longhouse, set in an idyllic, quiet location and pet friendly, yet just a 5 minute walk from the village of Llanmadoc. The village boasts an 18th century gastro-pub 'The Britannia Inn' which was recently voted 'Best Pub in West Glamorgan'. The area has many beautiful coastal and rural walks from the cottage, with the North Gower beaches of Whiteford (and its' lighthouse) and Broughton reached via a pretty walk through Cwm Ivy woods.

The village also has a bustling community shop which doubles as a cafe and Weobley Castle is approximately a 5-10 minutes drive away.

Reviews

The cottage is delightful, tucked away up a drive, in a small valley a short walk away from Llanmadoc and a great pub. Plenty of parking and space for cars. The quiet was amazing, just broken by birdsong, and the dark skies so beautiful, we were fortunate enough to be there on clear sunny days and nights. The beds were comfy and the heating worked brilliantly, as did the wood burning stove, bring your own wood etc. Lovely big kitchen dinning room with a great table to sit around. Bring your own kitchen cloths, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc. There were 2 tea towels. The bathroom and downstairs shower room are both great, the en-suite a little small, towels were provided but again bring your own hand soap. I'm sounding picky but when you arrive at 4pm on a Saturday and the nearest shop is a 20 minutes drive way, the village shop had already closed, it's good to know in advance! We had a fabulous time staying at Brooklands Cottage and would go back.

Mrs H,

The cottage is in a great location with pleasant walks to the beach and an excellent Pub serving great food. The countryside is beautiful and we enjoyed numerous encounters with wildlife.

Mr B,

An attractive and comfortable cottage, in a good position for exploring the Gower Peninsula. Aspects of the accommodation could be improved but nonetheless a pleasant stay.

Mr S,

Such a lovely place to stay - we love staying at Brooklands - our 3rd (and definitely not our last) visit.

Ms A,

Beautiful cottage. Set in beautiful surroundings. You are spoilt for choice either by foot or by car. There are so many beaches/walks to choose from. Literally breathtaking. The cottage is well equipped and spacious. Perfect for a family holiday. Big double oven for cooking a lovely large table to gather everyone together. We had a wonderful week and will definitely be back.

Mrs B,

Absolutely lovely house in a great location. The house is well equipped, nicely furnished, comfortable and warm, and a perfect location for exploring the Gower peninsula.

Ms A,

A beautiful cottage in a wonderful location close to lovely walks and beaches.

Ms G,

Beautiful house and location but let down by poor cleaning.

Mrs R,

A nice cottage and location great for exploring the Gower, which is beautiful

Mrs B,

We have recently returned from a week at Brooklands and would highly recommend it. The house is set in a peaceful valley with very pleasant views from the front garden, and isn’t overlooked. The house is spacious (having 2 sitting rooms is a bonus), very nicely furnished, well kitted out and comfortable. The water comes from a spring in the back garden and the house has a gorgeous upstairs bathroom and bath in which to enjoy wallowing in it! The area has a great community feel - a very short walk to the Britannia Inn (good food and nice garden with view of the estuary), and a bit further on is the community shop which has a cafe serving home made cakes etc. It is also possible to walk from the house through the Cwm Ivy nature reserve and onto the beach. Gower’s main beaches are a short drive away. My one caveat is that the front garden has a high-ish (4 foot or so) drop onto the drive - I would say therefore that in view of this small children/dogs may need to be supervised when in the front garden. Loved it here - a really great place to stay and I’d book it again in a heartbeat.

Ms A,

We had a lovely week in the cottage. As we had fewer guests than it caters for it felt very spacious, light and airy. The weather wasn't ideal for the barbeque so it wasn't used. The close proximity to the pub was very handy. We would happily go back again.

Mr F,

A beautiful property in a beautiful location. Close to the beach, great pub and coffee shop within walking distance. Spacious and well decorated. Great games room. Would love to come back!

Mrs R,

Lovely cottage, great location, good pubs and local shop but don’t forget your own washing up equipment.
