Reviews

Beautiful cottage in a perfect location for exploring Whitby. The cottage had everything we needed including a really well equipped kitchen and great sized lounge with comfy sofas for relaxing after a busy day sightseeing. We found the double bed quite uncomfortable, but that’s just down to personal preference.

Miss C,

Lovely cottage in a quiet lane. Good location to get around.

Mrs M,

The cottage is in a good position, easy to get to the harbour. The only issue was the parking. There is free parking on the streets but trying to find the correct location/zone was difficult. I rang the office and was sent, by email, a map of where the streets were for the correct parking. It maybe a good idea to leave a street map in the cottage. This would have saved us about an hour to sort it out.

Mrs W,

We loved seashell cottage really enjoyed our stay very homely, clean and had everything we needed. Brilliant location, popping to the poundshop for bits was very convenient. We will definitely be back.

Miss C,

Great location and a lovely cottage.

Mrs F,

Lovely well positioned property with cosy feel. Well equipped and nicely decorated. Really comfortable beds and such a treat to have a view of the sea!

Mrs M,

Having said the above we had an amazing hoilday and the location was great.

Mrs N,

A lovely cottage tucked just off the center of Whitby, but oh-so-peaceful! Great location to explore and enjoy Whitby and the environs.

Mrs L,

Excellent location, directions easy to follow. A few pleasant minutes walk to the sea front. The bedrooms were clean and bright. Downstairs needs updating and a fresh coat of paint, and I feel that we weren’t getting good value for money.

Mr M,

Nice and clean centrally located cottage. Fantastic as a base of operations to explore the area with a good amount of space for four. Requires some modernising of equipment to make it a great holiday stay, as the fridge is unable to chill items making it unsuitable for self catering and if you move through the night the bed makes an almighty creak that is guaranteed to wake your significant other.

Mr R,

A lovely, clean, warm, well equipped cottage in a very central location close to all amenities. Comfy beds with good quality linen and nice fluffy towels. Nice outside space for coffee, bbq or glass of wine in warmer months. Would definitely come back.

Mrs R,

Our cottage was perfect and the service from Ingrid Flute was impeccable.

Miss G,

Fantastic location. Great to have a car park so close. Lovely homely cottage. Would definitely recommend.

Mrs C,

We have stayed in this cottage on a number of occasions, at different times of the year. We Always have a wonderful time and find it very central to all the Amenities we need. It's comfortable and clean and we will definitely be back x

Mrs R,

A return visit to Seashell Cottage. It's still lovely and very well equipped as well as being in a perfect location. Did a fossil trip from Natural Wonders on Grape Lane - highly recommended. A beautiful walk from Sandsend to Kettleness and back along the old railway line and coastal path. Botham's for all your bread and cakes etc. We will return.

Past Customer,

Lovely cottage. Everything we needed. Very comfy beds. Thank you.

Past Customer,

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seashell Cottage. The most comfortable beds ever. Perfect location and very comfy. Thank you.

Past Customer,

Lovely cottage and brilliant location. Well equipped with everything you need. Been to Whitby many times and will definitely be back.

Past Customer,

What a lovely cottage. Very good location. A lovely holiday had by all. Would recommend and come back again. Thank you.

Past Customer,

It is worthy because it is so lovely , nearer to Poundland, shop like Breads, Vegs, Car Park is behind Poundland , Few Pubs around at Flowergate , Meals etc , Especially Little Garden on Front with Cottage, quite safe for Dog but Don’t leave Dogs Unattended because it alley , quite people walking passed Cottage, But Otherwise It is Beautiful Cottage , Will come back to that Cottage again, Thank you.

Ms N,

The cottage stated a welcome pack but there wasn't one, car parking permit was only for 4 days not 7 and the TV was not a smart TV as stated. It was only Freesat so we had to buy DVD's to watch in the evening.

Mrs Marina D,

The cottage was clean, comfortable and warm with the added bonus of a small garden to sit in. Unloading was a bit of a problem and in hindsight would have been so much easier had we parked on Flowergate rather than the car park suggested. The internal door has a temperamental lock we ended up locked in for an hour but we contacted Holiday cottages and they sent repair man the next day. He agreed the lock was faulty and we didnt attempt to lock it again and he was arranging a replacement lock to be fitted. Its a pleasant area of Whitby to stay in and suited our needs. We have been visiting Whitby for 40 years so are used to staying in different locations around the town and would certainly stay here again.
