The East Devon seaside has been adored for centuries, thanks to the awe-inspiring geological marvel that is the Jurassic Coast. Over time, our fishing villages, Regency resorts and thriving towns have become treasures in their own right. When you step out of your holiday cottage in East Devon, a whole world of possibility awaits you each day. This corner of the county is packed with entertainment for the young and young-at-heart. For those curious and passionate souls who can’t wait to discover something new, that will linger in the memory for years to come. 

Here in East Devon, we’re lucky to be able to get out and about in some of the country’s most beautiful places on footpaths, cycle trails and hiking routes. There are climbs along clifftops with dramatic waves breaking below, woodland wanders and paths that have been walked for thousands of years. Let’s go explore…

The south coast is home to hundreds of talented people doing amazing things with food and drink. Wherever you go in East Devon, you’re sure to find something delicious – from a traditional cream tea to a bold new street food stall. Here are a few of my favourites to get your mouth watering!

Deep on the south coast is a place where the Atlantic Ocean swells into an ancient bay on the English Channel. The world’s heritage is laid bare on the Jurassic Coast, while rolling countryside, magical woods and dramatic cliffs make much of East Devon an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Years of fierce battle between the Welsh and English mean that today, South Wales is home to hundreds of castles scattered across the landscape. Some are still formidable fortresses, whilst others are just ruins on the horizon. What they all have in common is the ability to surprise and delight visitors from the world over. I’d say that we are spoilt for choice when it comes to world-class beaches in South Wales. Rhossili on the Gower peninsula is regularly featured as one of the best in the world. Caswell Bay, Three Cliffs and Oxwich are similarly well-loved. But all along this short stretch of coastline, you’ll find drama around every corner and lots of sandy shores to relax in the sun. Let me show you a couple of my favourites, that you might not find on all the usual lists.

Come and breathe in the clean and clear Welsh air, fresh off the Atlantic. I love getting out and about to make the most of our brilliant landscape and be as active as possible. Whether you’re most at home on wheels, water or your own two feet, you’re bound to find brilliant places in South Wales to do what you love.

South Wales is a mecca for those in search of some of the UK’s best food and drink. The rolling hills, lush green grass and sparkling mountain streams make it the perfect place to grow top-quality produce. Which some very talented producers, restaurant chefs and small-batch superstars are turning into a huge range of tasty local treats.
